Forget all my earlier ideas. I can kill demogorgan at the cost of 7 spells and one character dead. Here's what you do: Let's assume your mage is level 25 or higher. Make a Spell Trigger: Lower Resist x3 and a Chain COntingency: Incindiary CLoud x3. Move all your party except for the mage FAR AWAY. Then, send your mage, and ONLY your mage, forward. As soon as you see Demogoran, use the spell trigger, which will get him to 0% Magic Resist, and in another half secon the CHain Contingency will hit. Now, run your mage into the cloud. DO NOT TRY TO RUN AWAY OR ESCAPE IN ANY WAY. Your mage will die, but unless the AI is a lot better than I expect it to be, Demogorgan should just sit there roasting. Think about it. At level 25, it's 25d4 (25-100) damage per round for 25 rounds, x3. That equals a massive 1875-7500 damage, and even with 20% fire resist, whihc reduces it to 1500-6000, and a save for half damage, it's still 750-300 damage, for an average damage of 1875. THat's 522 higher than Demogorgan's HP. Of course, this won't work if you have no room to move your party back before you fight, but otherwise, he's dead, and all with only one of your characters dead.

You forget... this thing might be immune to all magic!
I'll best try Holy Word!
Then if not immune to fire: millions of incendiary clouds.

there's always a way to defeat everything. besides, his stats are insane, but not all of that can be translated playably into throne of bhaal. no doubt he will be difficult (maybe one of the most difficult fights in all baldurs,) but he will definetely fall.

Use Spell Trigger: Lower Resist x3, Chain Contingency: Incindiary Cloud. That's my suggestion. And he at least should be only 20% resistant to fire, according to the stats.

I think it's Fire, Acid, Cold, and Subdual damage that he's immune to. It's electric resist 20%. Also, the guy should be able to be immune to time stop, because Time Stop is mortal magic, and the Demogorgon is at demi-god status (the Slayer is too, but that's hair splitting).

Also, don't you think this guy being one of the most brilliant evil geniuses out there (never mind him looking like a deformed monkey) would have some contingencies and triggers of his own ? And what would happen if his spells get off first and knock off your contingencied and triggered mage ?

Thirdly, on the Baldurdash website there's a fix that makes Dragons one step smarter, and the "hide your party, and throw millions of cloudkills" garbage doesn't work anymore. I think Black Isle maybe took some of this to heart, so that the monkey will chase you and chew on your nice soft flesh.

Not much good if you are soloing.

You could just try the trusty hack and slash method. I wonder how far this would get you. I still want to know if insta-kill things like the silver sword and quivering palm work, if so it's just a question of patience. (This isn't how I plan to do it BTW)
