Guess who just got back today?
Those wild-eyed boys that had been away
Haven't changed, haven't much to say
But man, I still think those cats are crazy
They were asking if you were around
How you was, and where you could be found
I told them you were living downtown
Driving all the old men crazy
The boys are back in town!
The boys are back in town!!!!!!
You know the chick that used to dance a lot
Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got
Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot
I mean she was steaming
And the time over at Johnny's place
Well this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face
Man we just fell about the place
If that chick don't want to know, forget her
The boys are back in town!!!!!!!!!!

YES YES YES YES YES!!!! A group of friends that I haven't seen for 2 years are visiting for two months. And yes, that includes CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
These two months are gonna be golden. I'm determined not to fall out of contact with these guys ever again.

MagiK, arguements with my mother distress me because she's my mum, sister and best friend rolled into one, we have that good a mother-daughter relationship. I think it's because she's pretty young herself and can still see from my view-point, I know most of my friends don't seem to have this relationship.[/QB]
Kat, it is an unfortunate truth that the ones we love and care about the most are the ones that can hurt you the most as well. My 3 sons (no TV jokes from you other old timers) and I have a great relationship. We are able to speak openly and honestly with each other. Sometimes we get into big fights as well. What I try to do is not use that "special knowledge" when we do fight. I know the things that will really hurt them. They know the things that will really hurt me as well. Not crossing that line is something that is very important so the love between us is not damaged.
What I suggest is that when things have cooled down that you have a private talk with your mother and tell her how the things she said made you feel.
Don't accuse or make your mother defensive . Use "I" statements such as "I feel hurt when you say I am selfish." The idea is to show how hurt you are and explore ways so that doesn't happen again when you argue.

I must say that this advice Antryg gave to Kat was probably the best I have ever heard. All you said is so true.

Whoa Antryg, Way touchy feely there man, sure you aren't some kind of girly man hehehe actually good advice. Wish I could keep those kinds of thoughts in my head when buttons get pushed. Kaltie, he is right. Only those you really love the most will know just how to hurt you the most. As I said, keep reminding yourslef, that the argument is just a transient thing.
