My biggest problem with the monitor is this. The blue light behind the on/off switch is really annoying when wanting to sit back in the dark and watch a movie because it is so bright. I don't notice it so much when an average amount of light is on in the room and I am sitting here at the keys, but if I sit back to watch a DVD, that light is glaring at me. I will probably take a piece of black electric tape and hang over the button, folding the sticky side in on itself so only it's just holding itself up at the top, and that will at least get that light out of the way.
I am still working on brightness and contrast and all the other little modes that I cam change to adjust things to my liking. I amd debating on whether or not to mess with the settings from the monitor's controls or the vid card because on the vid card, I THINK I can adjust the settings differently depending on what is being displayed, like movies can have a higher brightness than net surfing. I wish this purchase came with a one hour free pro that would come and adjust the settings to optimal for lazies like me. Oh...another thing that annoys me about this Samsung. The monitor housing is polished black, but the bottom of the monitor has a silver streak about a half-inch depth. I guess they did that so as to read the control options at the right, but it's still annoying that it is not all black...but I am being overly picky. Oh, by the way...NO dead pixels...just in case you were wondering. |

Oh yeah...I just now realized that I can raise the fonts and make things more readable and filling on the screen.
Why don't they come up with a LCDs for Dummies book? |

Wow!
Ref: Monster Cables: I can only give a personal general summary of their products, and none specifically about their PC cables. I really have not followed them into this market. In general: Monster Cable uses a higher gauge (thicker) cable, which does not lose signal (Ohms) across the throughput of the signal/distance (signal/noise) variable ratio. Furthermore, each cable is sheathed and some cables are additionally weave wrapped. Some cables are bundled, coated, and rubber sheathed for durability and longevity. ~The human eye will not notice any difference with new equipment, however, once the equipment ages, or is subjected to prolonged angles of routing, standard equipment will begin to show signs of degradation upto and including failure. The MC, liken to that 'bunny', will keep going (carrying a signal)! Additionally, MC uses 24K gold connectors/contacts (corrosion/resistance free = no lose of signal) currently one of the best materials in production for high end cabling. In bygone days, they also carried the best warranty in the business. Felix's philosophy? Buy it once, and forget about it! [ 04-01-2007, 12:59 PM: Message edited by: Felix The Assassin ]

Pretty sure they've still got that warranty...a guy at a guitar shop as recently as last January said, "Sure, tow your car with it, they'll replace them."
