No, you're quite correct about Glorfindel's death, and about the timeframe, as well. I'm just saying it's more likely that Tolkien had the Elves recycle a name than forget that anybody was supposed to be dead.

(After all, "Glorfindel" only means 'goldenhair,' and so would conceivably be a rather common appelation, especially since the only other noteworthy Elf of that name had been dead since the First Age.)

I've never heard of "Rord of the Rings," but has anyone read "Bored of the Rings?" The Harvard Lampoon put it out quite a while ago, and dang it's good. Even the map on the flyleaf puts most dumb fantasy novels to shame.

anyway, someone said that he thought a cavalier would be the protagonist. mostly, i wouldnt agree but a paladin or a paladin kit would sure as hell make the struggle between the protagonist and Bhaals blood more interesting
