The new Quiz will be posted sometime next week. There's something in Chapter 6 that I want to check, and I had to start a new game to do it. Also, to counteract everybody getting the Sahuagin question right in the first one, Version 2 includes a question that *everybody* is going to get wrong. (The weird thing is, the question is actually rather important. It's obscure, yes, but hardly trivial.)

Sir Goulum, I'll have to set the test-taking limit at 2 tries. My time is finite, ya know. And pcgiant, the LAST thing you need is more points. Save it for #2.

Study hard, boys & girls!

You know why it is... we may not know her name, but we remember her TITLE. Take away that title, we'd have all got it wrong

Or just ask for her name. And number letters that are correct .

Fair enough. Kick me out of the second quiz. If I wish to satiate my curiosity, however, and PM you with my answers, I'll send only the modified ones, and make sure there is PS on my message saying 'don't rate me'. I hope thats okay.

Now that the 2nd Quiz has blown over, it's safe to put the answers to the 1st one back where they belong.

SECTION ONE: Match 'em!
Shark Father = Sekolah (Saghuain City)
Morninglord = Lathander (Temple District)
the Bitch Queen = Umberlee (Brynnlaw)
Lord of Slime = Ghaunadaur (Ust Natha, priestess wants you to go kill followers of some sect)
the Crying God = Ilmater (Waukeen's Promenade & Slums)
Wonderbringer = Gond (BGI, the Hall of Wonders in BG city)
Lord of Murder = Bhaal (duh....)
Mistress of Poison = Talona (do Mazzy's Poison in Trademeet quest)
Leaflord = Rillifane (Suldenesselar)
Hearthkeeper = Cyrrollalee (talk to a female Halfling in the Temple District)
the Yellow God = Amaunator (Temple Ruins)
Stormlord = Talos (Temple District)
Lady Silverhair = Eilistraee (be nice to Soulafein in Ust Natha)
Mistress of Coin = Waukeen (Trademeet, Government District)
Vigilant One = Helm (Temple District)
Lord of the Dead = Kelemvor (Graveyard District)
God of Battles = Tempus (Cleric in the Fighter stronghold)
Stormstar = Kozah (BGI, read the description of the Idol)
the Spider Queen = Lolth (Ust Natha)
the Lady Who Smiles = Tymora (BGI, complete the Boy's Dead Body quest)
the Masked Leaf = Baervan Wildwander (Aerie has a dialog with Keldorn)
the Wise God = Oghma (Docks District)
Nightsinger = Shar (Viconia's new faith)
Maid of Misrule = Beshaba (listen to the Fanatic in the Temple District)

SECTION TWO: Where's Waldo?

1) Where in the game can you find a picture of Elvis Presley?
Answer: At the very back of the upper floor in the Five Flagons.

2) One of the portraits you can select for your Female character is that of a woman holding a sword straight up, and looking smugly into the camera. Where in the game can you see this picture? (The top half, anyway)
Answer: It's for sale by Quataris, the art dealer in Waukeen's Promenade. Strangely, it looks much clearer at night.

3) Upstairs in the Adventurer's Mart, you'll see two pictures of characters from the old "Dungeons & Dragons" TV show. The guy on the left was called Hank the Ranger. There are at least 3 OTHER pictures of Hank in Athkatla alone. Where?
Answer: On flags hanging from lampposts in the Docks District. The pictures are small, but it's undeniably Hank. There's another one in the Trademeet Inn, too.

SECTION THREE: Where I stop numbering sections and succumb to the miscellaneous

4) Name (or otherwise identify) at least 3 Drow that can be found OUTSIDE the Underdark.
Answer: Viconia, Drizzt, Pai'Na (just south of Bodhi's Lair), the Handmaiden of Lolth who comes to ambush you if you're romancing Viconia, and Raamilat, a Fighter/Mage in Suldenesselar.

5) Who casts the spell "Rapture of the Father?"
Answer: Jon Irenicus, in the "Beginning Chapter 4" movie and right after he captures you in Spellhold.

6) Does Korgan have a mustache? No peeking!
Answer: No.

7) Which of the following Sahuagin gives you a Rebel Orb and urges you not to kill Prince Villynaty?
Answer: e) High Priestess Senityili

8) Who is the only spellcaster in BG2: SoA who can use every dagger in the game?
Answer: Edwin. He's the only one who can use Neb's Nasty Cutter. Jan doesn't count because Use Any Item is a ToB ability, and this is a SoA quiz.

9) Where does the other exit from Mekrath's lair take you?
Answer: A little dead-end balcony overlooking the Bridge District.

10) Is it possible to have Yoshimo in your party during Chapters 6-7, without cheating?
Answer: Yes. Leave him in the Copper Coronet, then when you get back in Chap. 6, run up and talk to him immediately. Have him join your party. He will die, and you can Raise him. Apparently his geas was to the effect that he would "die," not "die with no chance of resurrection." When I fix my computer I'm going to see if the Spriit of Fate can summon him into the Pocket Plane in ToB.

11) When Mazzy invokes her Strength special ability, how strong does she become?
Answer: 175).

12) We've all watched Cromwell work his forge, and seen the visual effect of the gold hammer coming down & striking the anvil. Name at least 2 other spells that also use that effect.
Answer: Enchanted Weapon, Shillelagh, and Spiritual Hammer.

13) When you first meet the various joinable NPCs, how many of them are in prison, or otherwise unwillingly in someone else's power? (Yoshimo is in a kind of gray area here, so let's just ignore him.)
Answer: Imoen, Minsc, Jaheira (they're all trapped in a dungeon & don't know how to get out), Aerie, Mazzy, Viconia, Cernd, and Haer'Dalis. I don't count Jan because he only falls under someone else's power if you say the wrong (right?) thing.

14) Which inmate of Spellhold does NOT help you fight Irenicus?
Answer: Dili, the shape-shifting little girl.

15) Where would you go to buy stuff at the "Anvil of the Right?"
Answer: The Trademeet blacksmith.

16) What is the only defensive (blue icon) Wizard spell that Gnomes cannot cast?
Answer: Spirit Armor. Yep, it's a Necromancy spell.

17) An inn is any place with a Bartender or Innkeeper who'll rent you a room. A temple is any place--even a Priest standing out in the rain--where you can get Healed and Restored. (Ignore the various strongholds.) Which map areas have an inn, but no temple?
Answer: The City Gates, Umar Hills, the Underdark proper, and Ust Natha. (Ust Natha does indeed have a Temple of Lolth--but have you ever tried to get healed there?)

18) Which map areas have a temple, but no inn?
Answer: Temple District, Government District, Saghauin City, Suldenesselar.

19) What's the most boring map area in the game?
Answer: The Small Teeth Pass. There's, what, 5 Wolfweres and a couple of Ankhegs there? Pffft.

20) By the end of the game, which of the NPCs has the most powerful Dispel Magic?
Answer: Keldorn. Inquisitors can Dispel Magic at TWICE their actual level.

21) Is it possible to get more than one pair of Boots of Speed from the boot machine by using the old "Simulacrum will copy my inventory" trick?
Answer: No, thank the gods.

22) What about Project Image?
Answer: That won't work either.

23) Name at least three items that Cromwell can make for you while you're still in Chapter 3.
Answer: The Mace of Disruption+2, Ankheg Plate armor, Shadow Dragon Scale, and Red Dragon Scale.

24) It's possible to get rid of Wellyn by giving him his bear back. What happens if you attack him?
Answer: He dies. If you have his bear and don't give it to him, he'll turn into a Revenant and attack you.

25) Which battle with Jon Irenicus gives you the most EXP for defeating him?
Answer: The first one: 68,500 EXP apiece--the other fights give you 0 EXP.

26) The "Loading Area" screen displays 1 of 5 little mosaic pictures, each depicting a scene somewhere in Amn. Which classes' strongholds are represented?
Answer: The de'Arnise Keep--Fighter
Interior of the Temple of Lathander--Cleric
The Temples of Helm and Lathander--Cleric
Northern part of the Slums, including the Planar Sphere--Mage
Navigator's Room inside the Planar Sphere--Mage
(or Sorceror, if you really want to nitpick)

27) How many members of Drizzt's party can you name? (Not including panthers)
Answer: Drizzt Do'Urden, Cattie Brie, Bruenor Battlehammer, Regis, and Wulfgar.

28) Name the item from its description:
Quote:
"Known for its ability to enhance spellcasting, the [ BLANK ] is highly sought after by magic practitioners. It was created by Elairdrin Mellwith who resided in the Star Mountains. His reasons for fabricating such an item stemmed from his womanizing habits, and to this extent the Amplifier served him well. It was later taken from him by a mage with a more destructive intent, but records detailing the change of hands vary widely."
Answer: The Amulet of Metaspell Influence.

29) What does Minsc say when his spell gets disrupted?
Answer: "I turned, to shield Boo, and have lost my spell. I am NOT sorry."

30) Is it possible to obtain Adalon's eggs by going to Ust Natha and simply killing anything that moves?
Answer: Yes.

31) Suppose you have a bug in your game, and the boy Delon never appears. What piece(s) of the Crom Faeyr can you still obtain?
This was the trick question.
Intelligent gamers would recognize Delon as the name of the boy who tells you about the problems in his village of Imnesvale ("People are turning up inside out and mad!") and puts the Umar Hills on your map. They would then reason that: no Umar Hills -> no Temple Ruins -> no Shadow Dragon -> no Crom Faeyr Scroll. Players who were slightly more insightful also realized that: no Umar Hills -> no Valygar -> no Planar Sphere -> no Gauntlets of Ogre Power. However, the truly perspicacious of you realized that Delon isn't your only link to the Umar Hills. You can also get them on your map with the "Hunt for Valygar Corthala" quest (Talk to Tolgerias & Hervo, read the Corthala Tax Document), or if you happen to be a Paladin and do the quests to win your stronghold. So even without Delon, you can still assemble the entire Crom Faeyr without cheating.

32) EXTRA CREDIT BONUS ToB QUESTION: How far did Bhaal kick Cespenar?
Answer: Bring him the Runehammer+4. "You gots hammer, huh? Bhaal once drop hammer on big godly toe. Jump around and swear for days, he did. Kicked poor me all the way to Baator! Very bad week, that."

AND THAT'S THE GAME!!!

What about the Naljier Skal, who makes pretties in Spellhold?

What about the fighters' stronghold? A cleric arrives there and offers a temple service.

I wouldn't call that a spell, otherwise you could also include the making of the FoA.

Strongholds were supposed to be ignored.
