(ooc: Did I miss something??)

"The contemptible serpent would not find it that easy to erase the magic of this Amulet!" replied Magnus upon hearing Sir Morguerat's qualms. "In a sense, this Amulet is alive. It will actually resist all attempts against its workings, being obedient only to the dictates of the very Lords of Time themselves. As for its sphere of influence, it automatically exerts its power upon all those who are friends to the wielder and are within his range of sight."

"Can I take a closer look at the Amulet, huh, Master?" asked Rufus with excitement, stretching out a palm. "Please?" "All right," sighed Magnus, handing the Amulet to Rufus.

"Where did you get this thing, old boy?" asked Khadgar with enthusiasm. "Or did you make it yourself?"

But before Magnus could answer, the party suddenly heard a voice coming from where Sir Jorlon was sleeping. As it turned out, the voice was none other than Sir Jorlon's. Then Sir Jorlon came out, perspiration all over his face. Behind him sat Fenric, scratching his head. "Man... look sad. Why?"

"Jorlon, is something the matter?" asked Khadgar.

"I... I had a nightmare that will haunt me for the rest of my life..."

"What was the nightmare, Jorlon?" asked StoneRock.

(ooc: I'm thinking of introducing just one more item later -- an item of shrinking which will shrink a foe down to one-third his/her/its normal size, with movement speed and HP being likewise affected. Whaddya think, folks? If you think it's too much of a good thing, then I simply won't bring it in. )

In a few hours we take the fight to the wyrm, I suggest we take what rest we can and prepare ourselves for the struggle.

OOC lets get the journey underway, I'd like to have this done in time so that we may rejoin the battle that is brewing in the Lord of the Forums thread.

IC: Standing up from the chair he had been sitting at Sir Morguerat cleared his throat and then began to speak, his voice a deep bass, filled with conviction,"

Sir Jorlon, Rufus, Magnus, Khadgar, Stonerock, and even you fenric should you choose to join us, if your master lets you, we go to fight a great evil, one which even now is only gaining in power and evil, if we are to be victorious against He Who Mods we must leave soon and strike at the wyrm, for the stone and the staff, and possibly other artifacts that we can bring with us without endangering ourselves overmuch.

Sir Jorlon, I'm sure you feel as I do in my heart that we should not stop until we have destroyed this abomination against goodness and purity, but the dragon will keep for another fight, hopefully, and if we're successful we will have the full might of Keldorns Order as well the Order of the Radiant Heart, pooling our might together good cannot fail to win the day.

However, I say again, this is not the time to try and slay the dragon in his own lair, maybe luck will be with us and the beast will follow us out into the open where his traps and tricks will not help him, and more importantly they will give us a chance at survival against him. Magnus, if you would join us and pool your might with Dantes (if he shows up here again) and Rufus to teleport us into the lair of the dragon, undetected it might buy us the few moments needed to find the treasure and flee with our skins intact.

I shall be using Spirit Burner and the minor mind powers it conveys to scan for the dragon and hopefully weaken him by attacking his mind, I hold little hope that it will work, but the warning will allow you to use the amulet and slow time for us.

What say you all to my plan?
Sir Morguerat scanned the faces of his companions and seeing the resolve mirrored in each of their faces knew that his words had hit their mark and that his new friends would not back away from the challenge before them even if it meant (and it likely did) mean the end of their lives.

Sir Jorlon packs his horse, taking his sword and putting it in his sheath. He then takes puts his warhammer and lance, and puts those away in a weapon box while ignoring the questions coming from everyone.

Khadgar summons a small spirit horse, that obediently obeys him. "My good friend Magnus, would you like a steed too? I can make more if you'd like. And I'd still like know how you obtained that item. You were always a man of mystery." He laughs and then starts packing away.

Seeing them ready to begin their journey Dantes saddles and mounts his pegasus, grabs his things and teleport himself to their location. Seeing the looks of surprise on his companions faces, he simply states "Remember my familiar is here?" At that Socramedes flutters down to land on his shoulder. He gives the faithful owl a loving pat on the head. "Well met all of you, are you ready to go?

(ooc: Morguerat, you forgot one person in your roll call: StoneRock.

And to everyone: if you don't like this post, just ignore it, okay? )

"Not before I take with us another magical artifact!" said Magnus, lifting a finger with a wink. Reaching into the same chest from which he took out the Amulet of Time, he now took out yet another curious magical device. It appeared as a wand, only considerably thicker and with what would have seemed raised hieroglyphics on its surface. Jewels embedded into its side flashed and sparkled, and at one end of the contraption was a large ball of crystal.

"I call this the Shrinking Ray Gun," said Magnus with a grin. "When pointed at an enemy and the trigger pulled, it fires a bolt of magical force which shrinks your enemy down to one-third his original size, his speed of movement and capacity for sustaining damage being likewise affected, leaving him a considerably weaker foe indeed. The effect doesn't last long, though -- in a few moments he'll begin slowly to grow back to his original size. Here, you might like a demonstration."

Pointing the device at Dantes (ooc: Azrael, you don't mind ), Magnus fired. A thin ray of red light shot forth from the gun and struck the mage -- now suddenly reduced before everyone's astonished eyes to a diminutive figure running around. "Magnus, you fool, what have you done to me?" screamed Dantes in a somewhat squeaky voice. "Restore me now!!"

"Don't sweat it, you're already slowly being restored," replied Magnus. Dantes found that it was indeed the case, with his level of vision slowly rising until it was the same height as before again. "Magnus, it would be greatly appreciated if you stopped playing such pranks in future!" protested Dantes. Magnus only laughed.

"Oooohh, this fun!" exclaimed Fenric, jumping up and down. "Do again! Do again!"

"Sorry, Fenric, my dear," said Magnus, patting the beast in the back. "This thing hasn't that many charges left -- and it can only recharge by being placed in sunlight."

"Hey, seriously," said StoneRock, "this would be yet another great help in our quest! Magnus, you're a real bag of surprises!"

"Thanks for the compliment," replied Magnus with a bow.

"Look, Magnus," cried Khadgar excitedly, "you've got to tell me how you got all these toys!!"

"I made them myself," said Magnus with a nod. "Took years and years of research. These toys are the fruit of a greal deal of mental labor! And, oh yes, Khadgar, I'd certainly like a spirit steed -- though old boy Dantes' pegasus is much better-looking," remarked Magnus as he shot a mischievous glance at Dantes.

"You must show me how to make those toys, Magnus!" said Khadgar.

"I will," replied Magnus, "if you promise to teach me in future how to cast the Fire Aura of Brihaspati -- which I reckon you could cast on all our friends' weapons now, in preparation for what lies ahead!"

OOC: just so you guys know the dragon is going to immune to the shrinkage ray, in fact it might bounce off of him and hit one of us (25%chance), and the time thing is only going to be able to work on him for a short time (ie a round or 2) we don't want to uber now do we? also RP like your characters don't know this.
ICantes casts a restore spell on himself restoring him to his normal size. With that he winks at the group mounts his pegasus and takes off into the sky awaiting the rest of the group to continue on their journey.

StoneRock starts packing his valuables. His holy cross of Clangeddin, his holy waters, and some sacred tomes. "Ah, twill be a delight to crack some enemies of sin." he says to himself, chuckling.

Khadgar stares in awe at Magnus. "Just how can you do that? Almost impossible. It takes years and years of formula's and memorizing encantations and spells just to enchant an item so it can cast dispel undead and whirlwind. My good friend, you must have studied non-stop. This WILL be a party with you Magnus." He starts laughing, and then starts sipping some Wine.
