We have another Drow with us, Viconia (turns to her) with us. She is what you, I believe, call an outsider. Our other friends are Neb, Secretmaster, and Skip. I vouch for them all. Few ever get to meet the great Elistrae m'lady. She came to me in a dream, all the enemy's of LIoth are her enemy's so I'm here to serve you and your party, as long as it suits my mistress. Just keep me away from your pet drow. She worshippes the foul spider godess Shar! I am Phlith lil Noamuth by the way, but you can call me Velkyn.

GALADRIA (smiles warmly)Greetings, Velkin. We are happy to have you join us, but you should know that our drow, Viconia, is likewise an enemy of Lolth, and a victim of her, also. Just before we began this journey, my husband, Attalus, and I had to rescue her from the clutches of a creature of Lolth, the foul Erawoib, who had kidnapped her and was slowly, repeatedly poisoning her. She is lucky she is not dead. As a result of her experience, she has converted to become a disciple of Helm. We bear a scroll of Helm's avatar to deliver her brother, Valen, from the clutches of the Spider Queen. In her conversion, she also renounced Shar.
VICONIA Velkin, I beg that you not feel this about me. I rejoice to hear of your Mistress, and that she is an enmy to Lolth. So should all feeling beings be.

While the boring discussion was going on Neb withdrew three daggers from his belt and began absentmindedly juggling them.

ATTALUSGal, look, over here. there's one of the buggers left alive. (A lone drow warrior is discovered behind a rock, whence he had been blown)Velkin or Viconia, can you talk to him and find out where they came from?"
(Viconia talks to the survivor in drow, Badly burned, he believes he is speaking to a Priestess of Lolth. He says that they were out looking for a group of fugitive drow that had been harassing the patrols from Mezzobaranshan, Before he dies, he mentions that the fugitives are hiding behind some great hive that no scout has ever come back alive from, over to the east)The group walks that way until they are jumped by a group of Hook Horrors, each of which attacks one of the group
GALADRIAAll right , everyone, lets kill us some monsters!

Neb looks boredly at the hook horror as it charges at him, when it's just about to reach him he transforms into some sort of gelatinous creature and folds himself around it, it quickly ceases it's struggles and starts to dry out, as if it was being drained of all liquid in it's body.....

When the hook horror is reduced to a dry husk Neb moves away from it and transforms back into his original form, looking slightly less thin....

Suddenly, it looks like the monsters are on fire. Yet strangly enough, the flames are purple and they don't seem to take any damage. Two of the hook horrors flee straight away but the last one turns and attacks the party.

Skip looked around at the others. The big paladin guy who made the dog guard him back in that cursed house was keeping the monster at bay. Most of the others were looking at him expectantly.

"No. No way. You kill him, you all seem to be here for fun. Lots of caves, and a drow tells us which way NOT to go, because it is full of creepy monsters or something. So what do you do? You walk straight into it! Sure, getting us killed will help her brother! But that's all part of the fun, right?"

With noone looking the least bit impressed, Skip sighs.

"Okay, I'll kill it."

He takes out a throwing dagger and aims it at the creature. He pulls his arm back to throw, and promptly misses.

"Darn. Okay, okay, don't be so pushy. I'll hit it this time."

He thrust his hand into his pocket and took out three magical darts. Guided by their enchantments, two of them hit home and caused a bleeding, yet the monster remained upright.

He turned back to the rest and shrugged.

"It's not like I have a big sword. I just clean them."

But, the magic of the darts work to suck the life essence out of their victim, and the hook monster topples backwards, to the ground.
At the sound of the corpse making contact with the damp earth, Skip turns back to look.

"Told you I'd kill it."

He bent and retrieved his throwing dagger, slightly muddy.
At least he had managed to keep his clothes dry this time...

VICONIA(smashes her hammer into the Horror's knee. The thing screams as the joint collapses and it sinks to one knee. She backhands the antlike head, causing a giant wound which drips ichor) lil allur! For Helm! (Smacks it again, it crumbles to the ground, dies)(wipes her hammer off)(to Velkyn, seeing Galadria occupied elsewhere)"Wai jabbal! Pig dog of a male! If you ever so humiliate me in front of my mistress again, I shall flay you alive! She has told me that I must behave as a surfacer, and so I shall. But I shall brook no insolence from you, do you understand?""
