Hi to all! I knew there was a reason this forum seemed more mature than most...1/2 of us are old farts! Real name is Richard, I recently fell off the deep side of 40. Live in Santa Rosa, CA, about 70 miles north of San Francisco, where the wineries meet the redwoods. Formerly have lived in Portland and Eugene OR, Seattle and Olympia WR, and Tucson AZ. I'm an unabashed Pagan and Leftist, but am a lot more interested theses days in real solutions for real people instead of rhetoric. I write a bit, fiction and poetry; and noodle around on the six-string. In younger days played bass guitar in a couple of rock and punk bands that no one has ever heard of.

Gaming-wise, this is my first Wizardry game. I started with PnP D&D games in the mid-70's, and was hooked from the start. Played rabidly for about ten years, then moved away from the people I played with and didn't pick it up again. Didn't even own my first computer until '92, and used it for work and writing, not gaming. My first crpg was Fallout, and I was hooked, moved from that to Baldurs Gate, and hooked again. I was very happy until recently exploring ands re-exploring Faerun, and foruming on PlanetBaldursGate. Finally, one day, I just couldn't take playing through one more time, or hearing one more newbie on the PBG forum ask "how do I kill Kangaxx".

Picked up Wizardry on a recommendation from the Electronics Boutique manager. Best damn purchase I've ever made. Even though I'm still early in the game, I have the feeling this one has the potential to keep me happy for a very long time. So, that's a bit about me, time to log-off for awhile and get back to the game!

See ya,
Merk

oh, ps. is there a list on the forum of which smilies are enabled? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hey what's up I just got on this board

My name's Erik, aka Magnus. I'm 19, and I live in Wasilla, Alaska, which is about 45 miles from Anchorage. I am a Computer Engineer and already a junior in college After I get my BS in Computer Science, I am going to Law School, and after that the military hehe. I love to hang out with my friends, and one of the things we do alot is play roleplaying games. I've been into the whole Wizardry series since 1995, the Wizardry games are true roleplaying games, unlike all that final fantasy, diablo type crap. Anyways, I would just like to say that Wizardry is the best roleplaying series out there, and I would even recommend it to aliens and stuff like that.

Hi all !

It is a very good topic for my first message
My name is Greg [at least in English], I'm 29 years old and living in Lodz, Poland's second largest city. I'm working as computer engineer but also study marketing.
First RPG ? Probably 'Lords of Midnight' and "Doomdark's Revenge' on ZX Spectrum [ok, maybe not exactly rpg, but 'first person view game in fantasy envirorment' ], later 'Eye of Beholder' on PC. I loved W8 at first sight. M&M7, Realms of Arkania are my favourites. And of course Jagged Alliance 1/2 from [great] Sirtech Can

yea i guess i found my future nursing home

in everyother forum i've been in i've been the oldest lad of the bunch . i'm 27 pushing 28 next month . good to see people older then me playing . i was getting a little concerned about being too old to play games . but then again i know that my family 40 years from now will find me lying peacefully on a recliner with a controller in my hand .

my first completed rpg was Miracle Warriors : Seal of the Dark Lord for the sega master system 1988...and what a game it was .

Hello everyone,

I'm new to these boards (been lurking for about a week), but you all seemed like such a good bunch, I decided to register.

My name is Micah, I'm 21, and I'm going to school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for philosophy (yeah yeah, enough with the jokes already!). I like all kinds of computer games, but RPGs have always been my favorite. I believe my first one was Eye of the Beholder on a Tandy(!)1000. This is my first actual Wizardry game, and I've only had it for a day, but so far it seems wonderful. I'm glad I found this forum.

Happy Holidays.

My goodness, such a refreshing change of pace from the flame wars found on other boards...

My name is Bryan, from Houston, Texas. I am 36 years old, and I still have my original Apple II sitting in a special spot in my office. I still have all of the original Wizardry, Ultima, Bards Tales on floppies. I enjoy playing CRPG's and RPG's for the pure fantasy/imagination immersion. I get enough reality during the working hours, and after the kids are in bed, I enjoy losing myself within myself.

Other than that, I enjoy reading, cooking, computers, raising Bonzai, and playing with my kids.

I am an electrical engineer/service technician in a family owned business and enjoy the frustrations of troubleshooting electrical equipment.

It has been fun meeting the 'real' people on the boards, and I look forward to conversing with you all more often...
