</font>
Cake - The Distance </font>
Exactly. It may have been an easy one, but at least it didn't take someone with google to solve it, which I suspect happens more often than should be the case.

I'll be honest, like you with the Mars Volta I had to check it. I was fairly sure I knew the answer but seeing as I had no access to my music collection (am in the Library at present) I went to a Cake fansite and looked for the lyrics for the Distance just to see I was right before I posted. Which, considering it was easy, is really quite embarrasing... :s

Anyway, for mine:

Two Scientists racing for the good of all mankind,
Look at them side by side, so determined,

Another fairly easy one I hope, but only because its so damn good.

As long as we stick to opening lines of legendary (indie) albums, we'll be alright.

Quote:
I heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this :
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing ***
I've edited out the obvious title reference with ***. The song is best known in the version of an already deceased singer/songwriter, though not everyone realizes it's actually a cover of a song by another artist. I'll accept either of both names, though.

The only place I recognise it from is Shrek - the song name is "Hallelujah". However I have no idea on the artist. I'll leave it for someone else rather than do a search for it.

ok, we're allowed to do any genre of music right? Here goes:

"Way too far, for way too long Children crying, cast out and neglected"

thats quite a short snippet. If you find it hard to get it Il add more, although the next line would give it away! (hint hint )
That would be Mudvayne - World So Cold
I got lucky 'coz my friend borrowed me the CD a few weeks ago so I remember.
</font>
yep your right, a very cool song! Your go!

OK, here's one:

I want to live in fire
with all the taste I desire
it’s all good if you let me dive
with sharks on the ground

Guess away!
