I Think that the 5th was the best. Her writing has improved and I can visualise even more than the third book. Too bad my brother takes too long to read it. I want to read it again.

I finished it today, and personally I think it's a fantastic piece of literature. Far superior to the novels that have come before, finally providing the reader with closure regarding the events mentioned and hinted at throughout the previous novels. Hopefully this will allow the story to progress in a differant direction.

Reading the book I actually felt sorry for Snape, Harry might have still hated him but I now interperet Snape as a victim-figure, who's cruel personality was shaped by envioromental factors. She'll probably delve deeper into the past concerning Snape and Harry's father in the next novel. Anyone else feel the same about Snape?

On a completely unrelated note...Hagrid's "little brother"

That's all I wanted to share really, needless to say I was hooked from start to finish!

Great read!

I got the OotP about a week and a half ago although didnt start reading it until i had finished the cleric quintet (highly recommended) but now yesterday i just got the assassins quest which is the third book in the trilogy of the farseer books, i started it last night and it is brilliant, which puts harry potter on hold again.

Hehe, about four pages a minute you say? I'd like to see that I would

I think this 5th book was amazing all up until the very end. I can't really put my finger on what it is, but something about it made me feel very unsatisfied when I finished it. This book probably had the strongest collection of characters out of all five. I re-read the entire series after finishing this, since it had been almost three years since I finished the fourth and I had forgotten loads of details about this world. I'd still say the fourth book is slightly better than this, mostly because of a more satisfying ending, but also because I thought the events surrounding the Tri-wizard tournament were more engrossing than what happened here, and Moody, one of my favourite characters, had a much bigger part in the fourth book.

I liked the book. Best line belonged to either the twins and their give her hell, peeves, or Lee Jordan's levitating the nifflers through the window

Just read it! I had to wait till my missus read it first. It was by far the best book in the series IMO. Though I reckon it went a little flat in two places. One just before his "trial" and the other just after he reached school.

What is with this speed reading? When a book is so well written it should be read with care and given the time and environment it deserves. A great book will only be picked up if I can have peace and quiet, I'm siting comfortably and I am in a state of mind receptive to immersing myself in the story.

Finished it around 1:30 this morning. All I can say is WOW!!! I thought the last two books so far have been the best! They were both a little bit more grown up. I wish the thing with Cho had been played out better. Wonder who Harry's new love interest will be next time? Does anyone know how many more books are projected to be written?

Iam glad that the whole Cho things feel through. i mean come on all she ever kept talking about was cedric this cedric that. Anyone could tell that harry didn't want to talk about. it then she goes running into that other guys arms screw her and the horse she rode in on. i would really like harry to go after hermonie but i think that she and ron are going to have a thing. i thought it was great seeing ron worry about ginny it is exactly how i felt about my little sister. i really really hated Umbridge, iam glad that harry and i think george kicked the crap outta him after the quiditch game.
