Before I move on, there are several things I should mention.
a) I was extremely busy in the last several weeks, moving back to school and all that jazz, and
b) I lost a point of Constitution during the ritual... I forgot to mention that.

Other than that, things are ducky for Faldorn. She sped on through the Asylum, and I was *incredibly* irked to note that she couldn't detect the secret doors on the lowest level, nor could she open several chests. What I wouldn't have done for a Chime of Opening, or Imoen...

Anyhoo, the fight with Bodhi was uneventful. Faldorn went Slayer not three seconds into the battle, which I thought a bit odd... but I wasn't complaining. No sir.

The more interesting fight was between Faldorn and about ten minotaurs. Three of them from the room north of Bodhi... so I ran south, to the room filled with 'em. Was I scared? Nah. I cast Nature's Beauty, shut the door so none could escape, then Insect Plague, Chain Lightning, Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, and they all fell down dead.
Ha ha.

My last save was directly before the fight with Irenicus. It was going quite well, actually. I had used a scroll of Protection from Magic on him, so he couldn't cast spells directly... only contingencies and whatnot. And yet somewhere along the line, the inmates turned hostile towards me. This normally wouldn't be a problem, except that, in my haste to get through this part of the game, I had neglected to cast Death Ward.........

One Disintegrate spell was all it took. I was frustrated, to say the least... but now I know what I did wrong, and will also pay closer attention. I'm wondering how they all turned hostile. I hadn't used any lightning bolts or anything that might damage them... Ah well.
One for the sages, I suppose. I'll pay closer attention next time.

DISCUSSION QUESTION:
Does Wanev's note make any sense at all? Is it an anagram? Is it written in some sort of code? Does anyone have any idea? Are there any detectives reading this? You should try and decipher it, then... if, indeed, it can be deciphered at all.

In the Asylum, one of the mages gives you a worthless scroll (memo) that says that that the scroll is worthless, that it is indecipherable and that it is most likely the ravings of a madman. Anyways, the scroll is decipherable although not within the game though. The text of the scroll says: "Qc terxepssrw evi jypp sj aiewipw. Mrjsvg xli Uyiir, ws xlex wli qmklx wlss xliq eaec. Livi ai ks ' vsyrh xli qypfivvc fywl. Ks qsioic KS!" This translates into: "My pantaloons are full of weasels. Inform the queen, so that she might shoo them away. Here we go 'round the mulberry bush. Anyway, moving right along...
Saemon Havarian lies dead at my hand. For now at least. I am *still* waiting for an epic, difficult battle. I don't think I'll get that till I get out of the Underdark. I escaped the Asylum and was killed Saemon on the trip. That's what he gets for trying to get the Githyanki on my case.
Oh! I have some advice for everyone. Don't sell the Asylum loot in Brynnlaw... Wait till you get to the City Of Caverns. I never made a habit of selling anything to anyone except my contact in the Docks, but the Temple of Sekolah pays an *insane* amount of money for your loot.
So several thousand gold pieces richer, I headed off to meet the Spectator.
La de da. What fun. I heart the Spectator Beholder.
Now here I am, meeting with the prince. Blah blah blah...
This is one of the dullest chapters in the entire game.

Quick update... This is nonsense. I can't wait to get out of here so I can fight a dragon and give you all a decent account of a battle.
This chapter's name is "U is for..."
(Underdark; Underwater; Uppity surface elves; Unclean; Uncouth drow elves; Ultimate in tedium; Ultima, a spell I wish I could cast; Ugly fish people; Unctuous alboleths; and of course... Unbelievably GULLIBLE Matrons! Come on! Lloth is NOTORIOUS for getting involved in mortal affairs. Don't you love that door in the temple that says, "This door is held closed by the power of Lloth herself" but SHE DOESN'T NOTICE A PARTY OF GOOD-ALIGNED SURFACE ELVES AND OTHER SURFACERS WALKING AROUND HER TEMPLE?! FOR THE LOVE OF BHAAL I CAN'T STAND THAT!)
