Hrm... nice to have a conversational thread... I'm still not sure if this is a "real life" or purely in-game thread, tho...

Real Life, I just happen to be an archaeologist dealing with steppe peoples... so I'm all over the composite shortbow (Tuigan Bow, anyone? My buddy in Hungary can pull almost an arrow a second...), plus the sabre/scimitar, and axe... round it off with a mace if you're feeling fancy.

In-game? Well, I still like the Tuigan Bow, but as a "class of weapon," well, halberds are just spiffy...

I don't like halberds that much, certainly not ingame.. Don't know why, really, but it's I guess there's just something... deeper going on between me and two handed swords.. Chemistry perhaps

Well aint that something. No of course it wouldn't have to be usuable by monks, they cannot even assemble it (legally) in the first place.

Guess mine would be long sword followed by long bow, with axes as an honorable mention.

This is going to probably be some obscure thingie, that no one has any idea about. My first guess was the Big Metal Rod, but that's unusable by Monks. Jeez... Okay, I'll do it by process of elmination:

Mages can use Daggers, Staves, Darts, and Slings. Of these, Clerics can only use Slings and Staves. Monks can use Slings, but some kits, like the Kensai, can't use any Ranged stuff. Great. So, that means taht it has to be a special weapon. Something that they'd put in there to make sure that no matter what your class was, you could use it.

Are they darts? I know mages can use them... not sure about clerics and kensai though.

On topic: My favorite weapon would have to be longswords.
