That's not been the case for me, at least HLA's and Innate abilities have in my experience remained even upon entering dead-magic zones.

IIRC Dead Magic zones just don't allow you to cast any spells at all. Am I correct to say that?

They also dispel magic - like Stoneskin ...
Unless you wear those boots I mentioned.
Uh-huh, yeah I understand. That sounds fairly reasonable, as Stoneskin is something magical of course. It sounds reasonable too that Energy Blades or MMM wouldn't be dispelled though, because they are weapons. If everything magic wouldn't work you should only be able to use normal weapons in Dead Magic zones, which is a new challenge of course

Actually, as I check my map of the Portal Maze, both of the Dead-Magic zones and one of the Wild-Magic zones can be avoided entirely. Only a single Wild-Magic room absolutely MUST be visited.

Also, in addition to the tactics that work even in Dead-Magic zones (All Quick Items, most HLA's and Special Abilities, certain other cheesy tricks that are fun to find out on your own), you don't even have to spend more than a second in Dead- or Wild- rooms if you don't want to. Walk in, walk out.

That's what I do when I encounter them, run the heck out of the Dead-Magic Room.

pcgiant, sorry if I didn't ask my question very clearly. I was wondering if it was possible to beat Tactics mod with a solo character without breaking the SoA XP cap.
