Hello all!! I read thru this thread and it's nice to know a little more about ppl.
I guess I will start with, I was born in Mexico and 3 days later I moved to the US. Then I only went back to Mexico for visits. I grew up in Nevada, moved around alot after I graduated and then met my husband. Now we have 3 kids, 2 cats, 3 dogs, a horse and a mule.(LadyZ ) I love dragons, I love to paint ceramics, cross stitch and pretty much any other kind of crafting and can't forget computer games.
Ok, now for the member part
Sazerac likes roses
LadyZ dislike a certain white flower
Bili loves dragon like I do but she has alot more than I do.

About me . . . hmmm . . . okay, here is a brief snapshot into my world:

I received a phone call at the office today from the surviving husband of the deceased victim of an automobile hit and run case that is assigned to me. I have not yet met the gentleman in person, as he lives far away in New Jersey, but have spoken to him several times on the phone over the past few months.

He and his wife had been in this area of the country (Pickens County, SC), just passing through the area, when she was struck and killed by a van while crossing the road in the town of Clemson, SC (home of Clemson University -- some of you may have heard of it). Her body was drug/carried several hundred feet by the van before it came to rest by the side of the road. The van did not stop, but continued on down the road for some distance before mechanical problems forced it to stop, where police later found it and the two men inside who claimed that they did not realize they had hit a person, but thought it was a deer. The driver has been charged with the offense of Leaving the Scene Of an Accident with Death involved, an offense punishable by up to 25 years in prison. This case is currently pending and hopefully will be resolved at the next court term of October 29th.

As I said, I have not met the victim's surviving husband, but have talked with him several times by phone. It is obvious to me, from his words, attitude, and voice, that this man is one of the kindest souls I have ever encountered in this world. He cared very deeply for his wife, and is very concerned with keeping up to date on developments in the case. However, unlike what is typical in cases of this sort, he displays a generosity of spirit which I can only admire in wonderment. He has not spoken one word of revenge, of hate, of malice. I have not detected any such feeling in his voice. His only concern genuinely seems to be to make himself available to our office for the proper resolution of this case. He has not said one word about any punishment for the defendant, not one hint or whisper of "lock him up for life" or anything of the sort. He trusts me completely to resolve this case appropriately, and sees his role only as providing whatever assistance I need to do it. He trusts that justice will be done.

At the end of every single one of our conversations he has apologized for calling to check on the status of the case, and asked if it would be alright if he called again in the future. No matter how much I assure him that of course that is okay, any time he wants to talk, he still goes out of his way to ask again.

He did it again today, with that kind, gentle sad voice of his. When I put down the phone I just wanted to cry, so moved by the kindness and generosity of this man's soul.

I am crying now as I search for the words to describe this man.

I don't know how you managed to write this Dio. Take it easy mate. Be strong.

Hugh

OMG...I had almost forgotten about that thread about roses, and hydrangeas! Too cool, Draconia! Yes, I really dig roses. Totally cool flowers. Hydrangeas, too. Maybe I can find that thread and kick it upward. That was a lot of fun. Now it's chrysanthemum season here.

Cheers (and thanks for the remind!)

ok, well I'm not gonna go into great detail as it's late and the lowly Yirsinia pseudotuberculosis is calling me back to studies, but I live in Kansas, born and raised, am the 6' muscular type with blue eyes, and I'm in my 7th year of school studying Veterinary medicine. I've been to 45 states and 7 countries. I like listening to almost all types of music, and I play guitar, drums and sing. I enjoy sports, reading, working on cars, electronic stuff (car stereo installations, building PCs etc), the outdoors, and obviously animals. When I get the chance away from school I train and ride horses, of which I have 23 (yeah twenty three hehe). There's a LOT more about me but I guess you just have to find it out over time (if I ever have any). I've been around this place for well over a year but yeah, serious time constraints mean I don't have the opportunity to post much.

hmmmm...
Ertai used to have a different name and he's been around for a loooong time.
Ziroc was at one point very keen on building Undermountain, complete with 60 odd levels, for Neverwinter Nights.
and umm... I'm learning a lot about you all from this thread

Howdy..

I'm Jim, better know as Nachtrafe. I'm 6'3" have long shaggy brown hair, hazel eyes, and(so I've been told) a killer smile. I live in Nampa Idaho, just outside of the capitol Boise. Currently I'm unemployed as most of the market around here revolves around high tech. But I'm working on fixing that problem. I've done a lot of phone based customer service so if you've ever called DirecTV, Hewlett-Packard Tech Support, or to buy a Micron puter, you may have just talked to me. I'm into PnP roleplaying, reading just about anything I can get my hands on(up to and including food wrappers if I'm bored enough), and, obviously, puters.

Hmmm...what do I know about others...

Dio is fun to debate(argue) with. And his job really sucks somedays. *HUGS* Dio!!!!!!

Cloudy has too many cats and not enough ferrets!!!

Fljotsdale is a wise and wonderful Lady, in every sense of the word.

Silver Cheetah is a very erudite and eloquent lady. We disagree about most everything, but we usually do it with respect.

Hmmm...add G'Kar and Epona to that last comment.

Yorick is a wonderful musician, or so I've heard...or not heard. Is there anywhere to go to listen to one of your songs oh Master Bard? Oh yeah...and he's an Aussie.

Lady Zekke is warm, witty, and infinitely fun to talk to. And she handles her fans well.

Well...That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm probably forgetting tons of people. Sorry!!!

Later all

PS: Yorick...how am I 'Adversely effected by the War?' Not sure I understand that.

EDIT: Oh yeah...I forgot...for anyone that cares, I'm 29.

Oh, so you want my life story do-ya??
OK, just the interesting bits then - but everything's interesting to me *sigh*

My real name is Laura.
I'm 5'6ish" tall with long brown curly hair which has a mind of its own, grey eyes, very pale skin and freckles. I'm 30 years old, but I look a lot younger - most people guess my age at around 22-23. I'm not a snappy dresser by any means - I'm a bit scruffy really!
I live in Hoxton, which is in the borough of Hackney, London. The video for 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' by The Verve was filmed nearby. Damian Hirst, the artist, used to live around the corner, as did Jarvis Cocker of Pulp. I grew up in the country, and my family were poor. I don't like living in London. I am a socialist and a trade union activist. I'm vegetarian.

I live with my bf of 10 years. I have a lodger. I also share my flat with my beautiful little budgie. I play guitar, although am very rusty. I have wonderful parents, and a very intelligent and talented younger brother.
I have a bachelors degree (History/Archaeology) - which I studied for in the evenings after work. I love archaeology - also photography, art, music, theatre, film.

I am a civil servant in the newly formed Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA - or deathrow as the inmates affectionately call it). I deal with animal health (cattle).

Ooh, I'd better stop there!
About others:

Melusine loves hamsters and rabbits
Ramon shares my fascination with penguins
JJ almost always has a joke to tell

OT. Yorick, is that right that Stealthy is gonna be a dad?? Woohoo! Congrats Mike and Marnie!! They must be over the moon!

Heya! Y'all know me as Link, everyone i added on MSN Messenger know me also as Michiel (NOTE: for all non-Dutch people out there: try Mike, it's easier to pronounce!! ) I'm 17, live in the south-west of the Netherlands, in a very, very, VERY small town. I was born in Rotterdam, so I'll support Feijenoord (soccer club) for the rest of my life. What I like to do.. gee.. that's hard, I think it's:

1) Posting at Ironworks (I partly wanted to type this myself, the other part were my friends forcing me to do it )
2) GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS!!!
3) Soccer

As for the second part of Cloudy's post:
Melusine lives in Amsterdam, and has a lotta pictures at Stealthy's site.

Rikard and 250 won't stop debating who's "da maturesdst"

Earthdog has been absent for a while now, he's passed for a forklift truck exam, so he told me. Congrats mate!

Lord Shield is the protector of all that is good

Cloudy made me wait weeks before I got my job as an entertainer in her cafe.

Two members of this forum adore Green Day, I'm one of them.

Azurewolf was once kicked out of a school foto, cos his hair was blue.

Pollux was an asshole!!!
