New Portraits/Small Pics!

At any rate, more DC time now!

As for portraits/small pictures, I am basically working on lowly 1st-level dungeon crawlies in general for my dungeon (as well as NPC/PC portraits). (So now I have the goblin, the giant rat, and the al-mi'raj - others that I guess I have on my list are the bandit, orc, shrieker; giant bat, kobold; badger, carbuncle, skeleton, zombie, manes (demon), nupperibo (devil), larva, and giant black squirrel. Not sure if I want to spend lots of time drawing a horrid zombie, though... )

If you should find the desire to do some other goblinoids, that would be cool, say an orc, bugbear, gnoll or ogre...

I think zombies are fun. I get to deal with them all the time. (It's a regularly used linux computing term. Plus, it describes a lot of the people who use computers. )

Ha ha... Most of the guys who made all the computer lingo were probably D&D fanatics, giving us lots of interesting terminology like daemons, skeletons, zombies, grues, etc...

As for the other goblinoids - well, order is icons first, then small picture (so the bugbear and ogre are out for now )... No point in having an encounter (the small pic) without possible combat (the icons).

(Also, the list is just a list of -possible- small pics I will do - the list is too long, really (I could just give up on the zombies, for example, and put them in the skeleton encounters...))

Maybe I should do a really easy one next (say, invisible stalker)...

Oh, I understand. I'm just trying to plant some seeds for the growth of future portraits. You should see my to-do list...If we ever see even a tenth of them, I will be amazed.

Ha ha... To be sure, I do want to do a bugbear and ogre icon one of these days... The bugbear is a challenge, though (I have to compare the various versions' designs of this creature and then see how I want to design it myself).

I've been meaning to do an ogre icon for some time. I think I 'll work on that today after the goblin is redone. If I can get my mojo working, I'll even try for an ogre small pic.

I have a question. Does the damage for "large" creatures automatically apply to an icon that is bigger than 1 x 1? Reason: If someone were to use a PC icon that is bigger than 1x1 it would be more damage, right?

pushing the envelope... not always in a "forward" direction...

The damage is set in the monster editor and has nothing to do with the icon (at least as far as the mechanics of DC go).
