I would have gotten to another one today, but I've been spending the afternoon trying to get a new power supply into my linux box. The hole is off by a fraction of a millimeter, which is just enough to make the screw not want to thread straight down. I think I've got it worked out now, just need to make sure and reconnect everything.

Glad you like the short folk, as I've decide to work on them for a while. Nothing says AD&D like dwarves. (Except maybe for dragons...)

They should have called it, "Dungeons and Dwarves!" (Or maybe "Dwarves and Dragons?")

So far, it is a combination of a few Logic-Blocks (and text events). It works like this:
Player is asked whether he wants to attack "berserk-style", normal or "defensive-style".
Party's total Thaco is checked, a random value is substracted (and a bonus or malus depending on the chosen attack style).
If Thaco is lower/equal than a specific value for the opponents, the party wins one round. If "berserk-style" (Thaco is reduced) was chosen, the party members lose a random amount of HP based on the specific AC.
If Thaco is higher than a specific value, the party members lose random amount of HP based on the specific AC. If one party member dies, the battle is automatically lost.
The number of rounds varies with the specific monsters. I thought of including a HP-system for the monsters, but that is too complicated for me right now...
After a lost or won battle, the party (pre-generated characters) is shown either happy or sad and beaten...
If you wanted to include a creatures HP, you would have to set them up ahead of time with a quest and use utilites to subtract the damage done. How to subtract a variable amount? use a loop outside of the "battle loop" that subtracts 1 from the creatures HP quest AND a quest that represents the damage done and ends when the damage quest is zero, then returns to your choices of action.

I've played around with variable amounts from quests becuz I was trying to make it so you could have Food and Water displayed in the bottom two slots from your currency (and wouldn't convert to the next highest currency, like copper pieces; until you had a million foods). I had to come up with a way to "buy" variable food amounts.

Once I finish this tutorial (demanded by Manikus ) on how to use logic block events for comparing the Thaco and changing PCs HP (with considering AC), perhaps you could add this concept of adding hitpoints via quest values. Or - since it is basically the same thing - you could do a tutorial for the Food and Water-concept. Ah, wasn't it you who was working on a kind of tutorial anyway? Perhaps I confuse something.

Yep, that is certainly taking time, as well as looking for a new job.
Florida may also be inspiring for DCing with all those crocodiles around (as Uatu mentioned). If Silentthief starts a swamp adventure during the next months, we will know the reason why.

Ha ha... we will need some swamp druids as well to preserve the ecosystem! Can't let the shambling mounds take over (again)...

Don't play golf in Florida...

Oo, is that a halfling or a gnome?

(I think one needs a password or username to get into the gallery of yours...)

Though perhaps thin for a member of her people, she is not a gnome or a halfling...

Hmmm, I thought the galleries were public. I keep trying to log out of the site and then follow the link (or naviage throught the site) but it just automatically logs me in. Well, there are a few pics that I haven't posted here and likely won't, but they will likely show up in a design or on my site. (Eventually - whatever that means)
