Get the DVD of "8 mile" and watch the special thingymajiggidy...bleh, I've forgotten the name...uh...the thing with the native rappers who were asked by the Director to challenge Eiminem. It's fascinating, and would be more so if I could remember wtf it was called.

Of course, I think lots of rappers have great tracks laid down to make their tunes to. The Beaties' tracks rock, and the music is good without their words or with. Moreover, I look at rap like I do grunge. Both are very narrow styles that have a limited range in and of themselves. However, both contributed stylistic changes to the wider array of songs. Many songs have raps in the middle or intersperced, going all the way back to old Bobby Brown songs and such. A lot of music has also been infused with a "grungish" dinginess even though they aren't really grunge songs. In this way, these narrow stylistic movements actually have made their contribution to music's Great Debate. Oh, and back on topic: Can I vote old Red Hot Chili Peppers as "rappers?" ?? OK, John Cena because he wrestles for the WWE, I find his raps funny and we don't have to be worried about it being turned into an album or having to listen to it on the radio. |

Run DMC was probably the most influencial.
Outkast is probably the best. No one writes funkier shiznit than they do. All props to Biggie and Tupac though, both were extremely talented, as is Eminem, The whole NWA crew (together and individually), snoop, Nas, Jay-Z has to get some credit even though I'm not a big fan, Xhibit is alright and KRS one is cool by me. Ludicris' last album was pretty good. Nellie's first album was awesome but he's sold out big time since then, St. Lunatics' first album was sweet too, but they will probably suck now because Nellie sucks now. Thats all I got. I'm out. a rap thread with 2 pages and still no tribute to the original and best rapper. A rapper so famous that even though he has not performed for years he his still known, loved, and reveared throughout the world. I am even willing to bet that Attalus has enjoyed his performances. I'll give you a few more hours to put the record straight, or you "rap" fans will have to hang your head in shame
And woe betide anyone that meets this man, as I have had the privlige too, and not show him respect. He had quite a way of *beating* people into submission got the answer yet?
