I once though I´d add all the notes from Beethoven´s 7th symphoni. Maybe I´ll just do that now Mouse? Did you notice my question on page 1 of this thread btw?

I've just looked out of the window, and as it's blowing a gale and raining, I can't see if there is a full moon tonight. I wondered, because that's about the only explanation I can think of for some of the lunacy creeping into this thread.
Look people, it's quite simple, Mel started this thread to compliment CD on his new sig incorporating the text that previously cluttered up his sig into the sig image itself. She then suggested that others with a lot of text in their sigs might like to tidy them up by doing something similar. I've looked at her post, and I can't see any hidden meanings or cryptic messages in it. That's it, plain and simple. Anyone who sees something more or sinister would be well advised to shut off their computer now and spend a few minutes in the real world. Behave

i don't see anyone having a dig at Mel though. where did you see that, Mouse?
myself, I just posted my own opinion on sig generation, responded to CAleb's joke and responded to Arledrian's flame (if that was what it was) |

I'll just say that I like CD's sig, (nice word, Melusine, "elegant," meaning a simple yet profound solution), Kaltia's sig, Melusine's sig (but I don't want a poster, I get in enough trouble about the picture of Viconia on my desk) , Mouse's sig, and LS's sig. But I don't really like mine.

Just to clear up any misconceptions about how much text can be in a sig:

Geez, you guys can create an argument about nothing. A thread is started with good intentions and look where we end up. Let's try and take things at face value rather than look for hidden meanings in posts, eh?
Come on fellas, I haven't been here that often lately (too much RL work ) and the last thing I want to do when I come here is mediate this type of petty stuff. Also, if there are personal issues between people, I would request that those be kept personal and not start to affect the way you interact with each other (we can discern attitudes from the tone of threads here) at Ironworks. I don't know what these issues are and don't really care - I just want to make sure they don't impact negatively on the forum. There's no law that says you have to like each other, but there is one that says you have to coexist. Neb, re the ATTN: threads, you're entitled to your own opinion about PMs vs announcements, but the only reason an ATTN thread would be used by a moderator would be if the message was important to the rest of the board (eg if we wanted to call attention on something wrong that someone else might be doing so that the rest of the forum can learn from it - if it is a widespread problem). It is NOT intended to embarrass people, and will continue to be used for the reasons outlined above. The fact that we haven't had to use them in a long time is a GOOD thing - means that most issues we have are isolated to specific people and not widespread. Now let's all behave and not turn molehills into mountains - it's in everyone's best interest. I hope we can all leave it at that. Cheers. [ 11-23-2002, 12:12 AM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |
