it was all in good fun, timber, i am from a french/belgian liniage, and my father is the first american born in his side of the family, so im not particularly "unfrench."

in fact, one of the generals whom i respect greatly is napolean bonapart. i just dont like chiraq... not the entire country (though chiraq has earned their country a bit of a stigma in the US). i guess, in my mind, chiraq and viche (sp?) both playing to allow tyrants is a bad thing.

im sorry to any french who were offended by my joke. i welcome any counter jokes, so long as you realize there will be harmless counter-counter banter...

Country bashing in general is not 'in good fun' and will earn a 'time out' for those who do it.

I realize the above round was not meant maliciously but in the future, please avoid generalizations of the "All people of country X are drunkards/morons/intolerant ETC' type. They frequently lead to flame wars, joke or not.

Thanks for the admonishment Cloudy. We should generalize about people based on their jobs, not their country. Like moderators -- who are all grumpy drunken spoil-sports.

Hey! I'm gonna hire a sleezy shyster to sue you, pal!
Besides, I'm not grumpy, I'm pre-nuptially stressed! Maybe it can be a class-actions suit!

Yeah, well, let's get the Wedding Dress guy from Ebay in on the act and form a broad class of pre- and post-marriage grumpalumpuses. How's that?

Erm... maybe the pre-marriage people would change their minds as a result of the meeting.

It's just a silly thing between the Dutch and Belgians. We make stupid jokes about eachother all the time. We say they are dumb, they say we are greedy bastards, kinda like the Scots. There used to be a Belgian around here who would reply to things like this, but i haven't seen him in a long time. Too bad.

I would say the Dutch are greedy bastards except they send us thousands of tulips every year for free.

Nice folks they are.
