Is this game not rubbish?

I've only been playing this game for about a week, but granting the summer holidays i've had plenty of time. I'm a level 44 battle mage with a AR 230, 2.2 million dollars, almost every powerful spell, and an entire vault of high priced armor and weapons, I am virtually invincible, and am the arch-mage, a master thief and the fighters guild guildmaster.

Now as i start new quests for new guilds, like telvanni, or the legion, all the quests are so simple, it is almost a point and click, no challenge. So for me to enjoy this style of gameplay more, I would require some serious enemies, not any of these wild creatures or some skeleton with a cheap sword. I would greatly enjoy this if the game makers created hundreds of Dagoth Urs minions that are actually a challenge, I tried to soul trap Vivec, and got my A$$ kicked into shape, its a challenge, I need enemies like that that require some preparation, a few summoned minions, maybe a couple potions.

So considering that challenge is gone, which i pressume is the problem that you're running into, try starting the game over and have your unarmored skill highest, don't use the best armor, use some light armor, don't use trainers, don't use transports, walk to your destinations. If the challenge is gone, then create your own, give yoruself handicaps to over come, and when you over come them, then create others, tell yourself the only way i'm going to try to compete this quest is by using a dagger, or try to do it without using any healing, you decide.

Well, it would be hard for me to do that because i have the xbox version, no complaints here, i'd much rather play the game on my tv than my computer

Well, if you're using the Xbox version it's pretty clear that it's not too fun. You're missing out on half of the game. More specifically, the half that you download from the internet, mods.

Hello to everyone,
This is my first post on this forum and I thought I would just add my two penneth. I think that it’s different strokes. Just because you like RPGs you may not lik all RPGs. If you can’t get on with the system go find something else there are plenty of games out there. Personally I really like the game, I try and get inside the head of the character that I have created. I know that there are pre-defined quests to do, but there are so many and so widely different I think I could play the game with a different character and each time enjoy the experience. Anyway that’s what I think. By the way I am a Wood Elf – Thief with a touch of magic at the moment.

I think you're right Anduin. I don't like CRPG's (although I love playing table top) but this is one that I enjoy. One of the problems I've had with most CRPG's is the linear storyline. Granted, in MW the (main quest) story seems to be linear (haven't gotten too far in it yet), but you don't have to participate in it if you don't want to. The designers have given us a world to play in. You can come up with quite a bit of "characters" and play them well in this game. Now let me define what I mean by "character."

"Character" has nothing to do with stats, skills or classes. What I'm interested in here is goals and motivations. If you want, you can play an abolitionist. Or you can play a vampire hunter. Or you could be an alchemist, and never slay a creature. Someone here metioned playing a pacifist, one that never kills. You can pick what motivations and goals your character has and then play them out in this world. You don't even have to take any of the quests.

Now my experience with other CRPG's is not that great, but I haven't played one that has given me this kind of freedom. This is what I enjoy about the game. Of course, some people enjoy other things. Some of the people I play table top RPGs with enjoy hack and slash adventures while others enjoy more character driven/political intrigue type adventures. Like someone said, different strokes.

Totally agree Lox, I know there is the main quest and side quests, enough to keep you entertained for many hours. But you don’t have to do any of them. I think the main ability for a true RPGer is imagination. Set your own goals, as you say, be a vampire slayer, try and progress in the game by not killing a single thing. Your own imagination is your only limit.
