Ghar Dien ?/47 ?/70

Alrod obviously lived alone, for he had not displayed any need of social contact with Ghar Dien throughout the day. After a utilitaristic meal, the man chose a book from a shelf and retreated to his own room. Ghar looked over the books carefully, making a mental note of what books he would like to read and in what order. The life of a hermit, even a godly hermit, is devoid of most simple things like books, and Ghar's mind was starving for something with which to occupy itself. After making the list, Ghar took the first book from the list, the "Makings of Fate" and started reading it. Deeply lost within the pages of the book, Ghar hardly noticed that Alrod has prepared dinner, in a utilitaristic fashion simillar to the lunch he had before. Ghar took the book to the table, and without ever taking his eyes off it, ate the bread and cheese. When he reached for more bread and found none on the place where it was before, he looked up, and saw that Alrod was reading his book too. Ghar went back to his matress, and continued to read through the whole book before blowing the candle out to sleep.

For Zevin:

The men listened to the stories, with those who had been with Zevin during the battle staying strangely silent, and not telling the true tale of the events.

Several hours passed, but Terak still did not come back. Some of his men went off for archery practice, while another group asked Zevin whether he wanted to join them for swordplay.

For Jonal:

It happened all suddenly. Jonal felt a strange probing sensation in his mind, and then almost immediately a voice came, it seemed from all around him.

"Ready, you?"

Jonal Turamarth 35/78 54/56

So that's how it was going to be, eh?

Jonal spoke aloud, "How kind of you to ask my permission, Mr. Scary-guy. So are you not even going to come out and face me like a man would?

Let's get this over with. I have somebody that has been needing killing and I need to hurry up and make good on."

What Jonal was really feeling was a terrible sense of dread continuing to ooze up from somewhere...for he faced an unknown and virtually invisible assailant. How could he combat that? And on top of it all...he was one of those mind-playing types like that stupid Dreamweaver...although...maybe this was the actual personage of the Dreamweaver...

Zevin 52/52 15/90

Zevin grinned at the offer to practise swordplay with the men, hopped off his storytelling perch (with some very subtle gestures accompanying) and a loud crack was heard from the gnome, who immediately grabbed his back and hunched over groaning in pain at suddenly (and of course quite unexpectadly ) throwing his back out, he hobbled to a low footstool and sat "Aargh, my poor back, every now and then it just goes out on me, nothin to do for it but rest for a day or two, I'm sorry lads, I know you were looking forward to training with me, not just a master, but a Juggernaut of pure physical perfection."

For Zevin:

One of the men, with a sly look on his face rushed over to Zevin's side.

"Do you need any help? One of us is skilled in treating wounds. He might be able to help you."

For Jonal:

"I shall not face you like a man, Jonal Turamarth, for the simple reason that I am not human."

A blurry shape appeared in front of Jonal's eyes and he could see that whatever it was, definitely was not human. It had four arms and several other appendages Jonal could not identify in the dark. The apparition did not last long however and Jonal did not have time to inspect further, as suddenly fear introded inside his mind. The voice spoke again, this time from the direction the shape had been in.

"This shall last as long as it needs to last. Fear is one of the most powerful human emotions. It can be melded into anger, hatred and even love. My job is to turn your fears into anger. Anger and hatred. I am not here to give you a target for your anger, but it might be me. It might be Shaka." - Jonal felt the probing presence in his mind once again, then heard a soft, triumphant cry.

"You fear the unknown. You fear that which you can not fight on evil terms, that might mean...yes! Shaka can help you against this Dreamweaver. I can see what he did to you. Your mind is like an open book to me now, Jonal. I can write in it, read from it, even tear out pages if I wish. But wait a moment..." - the voice paused and the fear suddenly lessened.

"Most of the pages are missing. What has happened to you?"

As the strange creature regained his senses, the fear increased once again. A sourceless fear, the exact fear, which the creature had detected traces of in Jonal. A fear Jonal could not run from. He had to face it.

Jonal Turamarth 35/78 54/56

Jonal fell to his knees, holding himself up with fists, but he would not beg, he would not scream like a coward. He would just clamp his teeth tightly and bare it. This entity was loud in his mind, taking over his thoughts, and making Jonal feel like a spectator on the side. It was most horrible, because he could not touch nor see this assailant. But at the same time...the thing proved that it was not the dreamweaver...and had made him a promise. Jonal could not help but tell it what it asked...

"A cleric took my memories from me in a revengeful fit of anger...binding me to the task of his weakling God. He wears it upon a chain around his neck."

Jonal strained the words aloud through gritted teeth, sweating as though it were a thousand degrees in the room.

For Jonal:

"Another thing to fuel your anger. If you were given a chance would you be willing to unleash your anger against those, who did this to you?"

The fear inside Jonal did nothing but increase. It was relentless as if it were trying to achieve something.

Ghar Dien 47/47 70/70

"I've met them in the local pub, hired them to be my guide through this region." Ghar nodded. "Shall we move at once? I am eager to find out what exactly lies behind this."
