OOC>>> Sorry, all... I can't believe I missed the earlier post

IC>>>
Rhianneth

Nothingness, for an eternity... was it not?

A blinding flash, crackling bursts of sound.

Her frozen limbs suddenly drop feebly, her fists able to clench and unclench.

Uncomprehendingly, she opens her mouth and exercises her long-taut jaws, her nose twitching and eyelids fluttering.

And then she notices the shadow.

Looming high above her, a giant of a humanoid.

She tilts her head, upward, willing her heart to cease its panicky shuddering. It is no use; the irrepressible pounding continues, and terror attacks her senses.

What is this... creature here?

The knots in her stomach tighten, her eyes dilate in recognition of a force far exceeding her own.

"Thank you... whoever you are." ~ She manages, rather stiffly.

Saithele

Stopping to listen for a moment before continuing he announced his presence to Euryale, the frustration very evident in his voice, "I have no quarrel with you, yet, woman, the Allies I found have talents different from my own, one is what my people call a mind-bender, and the other is a priestess, we could use some divine intervention more than most of these realms."

His stride and the loud (for him) footfalls told both Euryale and the two women behind him that he would not be stopped by the threats of the gorgon.

Euryale

A dark hiss was all the response that the elf received in answer. She was still wounded and did not have the strength to quarrel with these surfacers. She led the way, assuming that they were following, but not looking back to keep her mannerism in check that it not appear that she were attacking with her gaze, and so Euryale traced her pathway back to her din.

It was in shambles. The walls were broken up, the possessions she owned were destroyed and one of the statues had been stolen. The female one. She still had her ranger, that was dumb enough to come looking for her alone. He was turned over. She made a quick inspection to determine that he was not broken and when she was satisfied, she sat and waited to see what plan the elf and his elf and human and lion friends had. She kept her gaze downard, not wanting them to be too hasty to pick up arms against her.

"Speak, elf. What have you to say now, to me?"

=================================================

Anarrima

Anarrima was shocked. Would her goddess allow her to league with an evil entity as this? Would her powers not be revoked if turned to the use of this creature? She determined finally that it was the rogue elf that was the one making the bargain and so he would be the one to answer to the gods. Anarrima meant to stay alive through this, and she needed Saithele to get her out of this cavern. He was her ony hope now, not to mention the hope of her new human companion and her lion. They followed this Euryale to her lair, where they saw it in ruins. Yet, there seemed to be something of high value left behind. The statue that appeared to be Brendon. She gasped aloud and ran over to it. He had been knocked over. It was too heavy for Anarrima to pick up. She turned to Saithele and waited for him to do something to save thier friend.

OOC>>>Your move, Ruby. If you want Morg to go ahead in case you are unable to...I am sure you two can talk that over together.

Question Mark

ruby and wyrd followed along not sure if it was the best idea. wyrd is completely at alert, and refuses to let Saithele out of his sight.

watching ana rush to statue of brendon, ruby's brain slowly processes the events. she takes her time going to brendon, fearing she may never see him alive. wyrd stays in a tactical position optimum for attacking anyone going for his companion.

ruby glances to Saithele and in her haze goes to help ana lift.

OOC:geez...where did nathan put that psionics book...grrrr....i wanna use telekinesis, but i can't recall it's costs, and whether or not i could even lift that much. i'll repost asap, probably tomorrow, witht he exact info, unless nathan posts his help and the job gets done.

Morguerat

The man's confused thoughts roiled about like a wisp of smoke in a fogbank. "Fought? It's frought with danger, dangerous dangers filled with unimaginative dangers, I don't like unimanginitive things, they're so full of imagination. .My name is eman, eman si name yM Beware the frugal Hapswith with Haps and swith, now we know and knowing is half and half, but I'll just take cream. The curve of the blade falls mainly on the brain, can you touch the pain and feel the sprain? Know the cost of warm milk and fuzzy kittens!"

(Inserted message by Larry)...The following creation by Morguerat has been approved by both DM's.

The jumbled rush of random though strikes you like your own thunderous hammer, leaving you stunned for a moment. Beneath the strangeness of such thoughts there sounds a sinister tone, a note of violence buried beneath the nonsense, a harsh and challenging note. There is much pain as well, under the casual chaos, Morguerat seems to be hiding from reason to ease the pain, as the pain and chaos surge into your mind you reflexively cancel your spell. You feel unsettled, leaving you shaken, but not stirred, as though the primal chaos from Morguerat has begun eating away at your sanity as well.

Saithele

Rushing forward he helped lift the statue of his fallen ally, inspecting him for breakage, and scanning the area (including the statue) for his sword, he cursed quietly and whispered in elven a wish for some way to return Brendon to the world of light and life, instead of leaving him trapped in his stone prison, {still in elven}"Perhaps he will remain unmolested long enough for us to deal with Terrakis and return for him on our way to the surface"

turning to Euryale, he said, "It seems your home has been ransacked by this giant, there must be some weapon we can use against him, some weakness he possesses, what do you know of how the Modding Mage fell? He was another unstoppable force in the history of this forum who nearly destroyed it, and yet he was destroyed, perhaps whatever destroyed him can be harnessed to deal with this giant..."

Euryale

"You know, you do not allow for much credit to your race, sssilly elf. Let ussstart with the fact that I am not a creature from the world of Dungeons and Dragonsss. I do not abide by thier rulesss. If you want the ssstatue of the hero released...you may ask me to do it...but only in exchange for a full healing of my body.

And do not forget that the barrier of language doesss not win over me, so you cannot hide behind that elf tongue of yoursss.

Asss for the Fallen One. You should ssstudy your own history more. He was beaten not with force, but with wit. A secret it was...an invisible killer right there in the throne room with him...but he never knew it. The one that brings the storms knew, however, and used it against him! Trickery and cunning won that day! Haha! It was a glorious defeat. But I shall not say more. I have asked for healing.
"

Anarrima

Ana heard the words of the snake and despised them, for they were too easily believed. She sighed to her human partner and then looking to the elf Saithele she said, "I would indeed do as she asks and heal her that we may have Brendon back...but I have not the permission to do so from my goddess. She would never allow me. What can we do"?

It took Zachary several minutes to recover from the unexpected mental onslaught, yet the effort had not been completely in vain. He had gained some insight to what was going on in the fighter's mind...and he had detected, just barely, another presence. One that seemed to be the root cause of the warrior's madness. The presence did not create the madness, rather, the madness was an attempted defense against the presence. But the presence - whatever it was - did seem to be more or less "in control" of the warrior's mind. It may not be able to control or direct every thought, but it was definitely directing the warrior's overall thoughts and actions.

To be perfectly honost, Zachary was glad his spell had been interrupted and the ties severed between he and the fighter. The cleric would NOT have been able to maintain any level of concentration in battle or when casting spells with the fighters incessant banter running through his mind. And Zachary wasn't at all sure about facing whatever hidden presence was there, either - at least not until he had had time to meditate and prayer to Odin for guidance. There was only one spell that Zachary could think of to try in this situation...but it was one that he had never cast before, nor had he ever planned to. He needed time to think, to ponder, and to plan his next move. The fighter seemed to respond to direct threats, so that would have to do for now.

In the meantime, Zachary began trying to recall the forgotten incantations of the spell he thought he might need.

Zachary, as you try to recall the spell you desire, you realize that there is something wrong in your mind. The spells seemed jumbled and half-eaten away. As you do a mental probing, you realize that you have actually lost three spells that you once had memorized. Cyril says that those three can be of your choosing. The work of sorting out the mess in your own head has left you feeling somewhat weaker than before.

For Rhianneth

Terrakis

She is frightened and disoriented, this woman, but still she speaks with directness and a forcibly maintained composure. Her will is strong, this one, and that is perhaps what the One who is their father esteemed about her. Still, however, she left him even as the enemy made his presence known. Despite her question, he studies her in intent silence a while longer, his eyes careful to take her measure and to note the nuances of how she deals with the discomfort of her situation. When he finally speaks the deep and confident notes of his voice fill the chamber, “So, you are the Rhianneth of whom our father was so fond …..” Her eyes widen in surprise at his words and again he pauses to watch the questions surface upon her face.

“Yes ….. you know of whom I speak, the One called Larry, who ruled these forums with modding shadow ….. the One who was slain within his tower ……” as he continues his voice takes on a cold intensity, “….. the One whom you abandoned, woman.” Again he pauses, the stern confidence in his eyes taking the measure of her reactions. With a sweep of his arm he indicates his brothers, “We are his sons, the children of his power, and though he never knew us, nor we him, woman, we are his heirs.” His voice rises now and its booming tone is echoed by the others, “And none shall contest our claim!”

Again his eyes fix their direct gaze upon her. “I am called Terrakis and these are my brothers.” The Giants of Shadow step forward at his words, their large forms blocking her view of the remainder of this chamber.
