To Walk a Dragon's Path, Chapter 1-A Thorny Road(closed ATM) - Page 5

ooc- [img]graemlins/crying.gif[/img] sorry I havent been on the internet for 3 days.

I tried to get on last nite, but my mom sent me to bed (yes, mummy, I'll go sleep now..

) I had been averaging 4 hours of sleep a nite for the past week, and I prolly wasn't in the greatest mental health to post. ^^;
I'm confused as to whether Skye was healed or not, but I'll just say her wound was forgotten in the flurry of events. ^^;

ic- Skye sat up in her bed at the inn and stretched, glancing at the gash on her arm. It had healed surprisingly quick, and left no scar. She shrugged, thinking that perhaps there had been no poison on the weapon after all. After tidying herself up a little bit and checking on Damion and Khalraan, the latter mumbling something about "pretty girl" in his sleep, she went to get some breakfast. She passed Cal and Aeris on the way, both seemed to be in trouble over something. Upon reaching the bar, Skye realised why. Grinning wryly at the wreckage, she sat at the bar and ordered some food. Whomever had been the cause of the fight luckily had left already. She sighed, and mulled over her meal. Khalraan and Shadow had been off in daydreams, Cal and Alliene were upset for various reasons... 'Why is life so confusing?' she mused. Skye was almost glad that Khalraan hadn't gotten anyone to take a look at her wound, everyone was too caught up in their own problems. At the thought of the wound, it suddenly throbbed. 'Must be because it just healed,' she thought with a wince. She sighed again. It was rather boring around the inn, with everyone distracted. Perhaps she would wander about somewhere and put her bardic skills to good use.

ooc- Sorry, I know you don't want anyone posting until lb does. just consider this a "catch up" post.. ^^;

ic:Khalraan yawned, and sat up.
'Where's Skye gone?' he asked of Damion, but seeing the younger boy was still alseep, the elf went downstairs to breakfast, hearing shouting from Verloren's room.
Still half asleep, the little thief walked into the room where the brawl had happened, and promptly tripped over a chair.

Sylquisitae yawned, and sat up in bed. Her sister was still sleeping, and she looked so very tired, so tired in fact that Sylqius didn't want to disturb her. Climbing out of bed, she stripped and dressed herself, pulling her shift over her head, and replacing it with a clean one. She dressed in basic traveling equipment - clothes Calaethis had provided for her. She didn't quite know what to make of him. At some levels, he seemed very mature and very noble, and at others, he still seemed like a child. Not knowing what to make of him, because of his kindness, she stayed out of his way mostly. She certainly didn't want to anger him in anyway, not after he'd saved her and her sister from the underdark. She finshed dressing, tucking her breeches into her boots. She was unused to this style of clothing; she wore a blue tunic over her underclothes, which reached her mid-thigh, and grey breeches that clung tightly to her, and black boots. She was warm though and it was... snuggly, for lack of a better term she decided. She left her packs and cloak in their room, and slowly and softly closed the door behind her. She decended the stairs and looked around at the mess, placing a hand to her mouth. It hadn't been like this last night... maybe that explained the shouting that had woken her up...

She noticed that Khalraan was lying face down on the floor and stared in surprise - for about half a second. Then she walked over to him, knelt beside him, and asked in a soft voice "Are you all right?" then she offered him a hand up, her voice filled with concern for him. She saw he was all right, and brushed his cheek lightly to remove some dirt from it. Her eyes had a genuine look of concern in, but not love. She seated him down, and called for a pitcher of water and a bowl. It arrived, and with gentle hands, she used a rag to wash his face, making sure that his bruises (one of them) didn't get any dirt in. Finished she asked if he was hungry, and ordered some breakfast for them.

edit OOC - I'd appreicate it if the rest of you didn't advance too far ahead - it'd be nice for lb to get back and not to have too much to catch up on - and, I'm still looking forward for her to post a lecture on Verloren's part.

Skye hid a smile as she watched Khalraan trip over himself, then walked over to him and the small elf girl once they had ordered some food. "Hello there, I don't believe we've met before," she addressed the girl with a kind smile. "My name is Skye. What's yours?"

Sylquis rose and curtsied to Skye, "My name is Sylquisitae - Sylquis for short, my lady." She blushed slightly as she realised that Skye had most likely seen her patch Khalraan up, "Your part of Lord Calaethis's group arn't you my lady? I've seen you with the others, but..." she cut off, and lowered her eyes shyly. She curtsied again, and waited for Skye to indicate she had permission to sit down. Her drow "manners" were still deeply ingrained.

Skye waved her hand at Sylquis and said dryly "Please don't call me lady, it makes me feel old. We'll be friends, how's that? That way you don't have to treat me with so much respect." she grinned at the taken aback elf, then sat herself down next to her. "Keeping a sharp eye on Khalraan there, I hope." she winked at Sylquis. "He can be a tricky one at times... can't you Khalraan?" she smiled playfully at the small elf.

The elf girl smiled and nodded "I'd like that ...Skye." she smiled at Khalraan, "Yes, he does seem to get himself into trouble, doesn't he? Like walking into people's rooms whilst they're wrapped in bathing towels... and oggling -" she cut off and asked Skye in a whisper "Is that the right word? For staring I mean?" She smiled shyly and continued "-at them, isn't that right Khalraan dear?" she asked him with a wicked twickle in her eyes, she still smiled at him fondly though. She gave a slivery peal of laughter as Khalraan blushed. "Why Khalraan dear, your blushing, oh my, was it something I said?" Her smile was naughty, even impish. She was making him pay for gawking at her when she was clad in her bath towel. She smiled at Skye and waited for her to begin eating before she did.

Skye took a bite of her food so the others would eat, then looked bemusedly at Khalraan. "What's this about bath towels?" she asked, raising an eyebrow with amusement. "They start younger every generation, I swear." She chuckled to herself, taking another bite of her food.

Sylquis blushed but said nothing, instead nibbling on her food. Suddenly an almost evil glimmer entered her eyes, and her face became angelic, almost too innocent. She paused and looked up at Skye, her eyes wide with (false) innocent, shining with sincerity "Skye, may I ask you something?" she paused, then continued, "Lord Calaethis, he's quite handsome isn't he? I think he is, don't you?" She ignored Khalraan and concentrated fully on Skye.

Skye made a choking sound, and pounded her chest. Once she was able to breath properly, she looked up at Sylquis. "What?" she asked weakly, then took a sip of her drink. Continuing in a stronger tone she said "Yes, I suppose he is. But believe me, he's more trouble then he's worth." she waggled a finger at the small elf. "First of all, he's too old for the likes of you. Second of all, his relatives would rather die then see him with an elf, let alone a half elf like me." She sighed, leaning foward on the table, resting on her elbows. "Cal does have his fair share of good looks, plus he's really nice and all. But I really don't think he's interested... he's nice to everyone. So don't go be making mischief, alright?" she gave the two youngsters a warning look, then went back to munching her breakfast.
