How does heroquest relate to Stereotypical D&D characters?

Only tangently. They are both cliches of the fantasy/adventure genre.

A GREAT Discworld party for SoA would be the Silver Horde

Cohen,Trukel,Mr.Savaloy or "Teach",Mad Hamish,Boy Willy, and the others whos names i dont remember right now.If your wondering what teach should be,a fighter with retarded fighter stats and high WIS and INT.Kind of a watse really, but hes funny.

Also,i dont know if i spelled their names right.

EDIT Also, for a non silver horde party,a mage-ALBERT!-Possible one of the,if not THE most powerful mage ever.

Might be a bit unbalanced with 5 barbarians.

Since we finally discovered Dirty Meg's "theme", I thought I would add one of my own.

The party members are:
Human Barbarian (male)
Human Fighter (female)
Elven Archer (male)
Human Mage (male)

This one is also patterned after a fantasy-based game.

You could have a Discworld Weird Sisters party

Granny Weatherwax, with magic in her blood - sorcerer

Magrat Garlick, new-age and in tough with nature - druid

Nanny Ogg was a bit harder to place, until I remembered her rendition of the classic song 'A wizard's staff has a knob on the end' - Bard (probably jester; she'd certainly confuse enemies)

Boy. Heroquest. That was a let down. I thought you said it was trite -- in what way is this trite, exactly?

I've never even heard of Heroquest. Wot country are you from?
