Sanchuudoku = WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpowered, but if your only going to use it on trolls, then no problem(not like its a problem in the first place...). The fight for it is very hard though, so i guess that justifies it a bit.

Not offended TaSSaDaR, just trying to help. I thought the blunt katana was a good idea, however, it might not appeal to everyone (and you obviously didn't like it ).
That's the first time i have seen the stats on that acid katana... i'll agree with Raistlin Majere that is one over-powered sword.

Clay Golems can actually be killed with certain sharp weapons, provided they do Elemental damage. It takes a long time (since the Elemental damage is the only damage that gets through), but it CAN be done. [In case you're wondering, yes, this was considered for use in the GBPitBSoATQ.]
The Corthala Family Blade (Bleeding damage) and Frostreaver (Cold and Acid, although only 1 of those types will actually hurt the Clayboys, and I'm not sure which) will work. The Dragon's Breath halberd, on the other hand, will NOT work, as it allows for the victim's Magic Resistance. I haven't tested Stonefire. As for a Katana that deals Blunt damage, why can't you hit with the FLAT side of the blade? Granted, a Katana is almost the very worst sort of weapon to do this with, but it could be done.

Actually, use a magical quarterstaff against the golems. While it is not a katana, it is still an commonly used eastern weapon. Clubs can also be used. Helps with the clay golems, but doesn't solve the troll problem. Not much to be done with the trolls, except for one dagger that I know of that does fire damage. That is with unmodded game; otherwise, the superweapon listed above handles trolls and pretty much anything else in the game (does acid damage and lowers acid resistance? ouch).

Clay Golems are vulnerable to fire damage. The problems arises that most elemental damage on weapons check for Magic Resistance.
Ring of the Ram works. You can try the following weapons. I have not tested them, so they might not work. Flame Tongue Long Sword of Flame Potion of Explosions Potion of Firebreath Oil of Fiery Burning Ring of Energy Sanchu( need the Acid Kensai mod) There should be more, but this is what I can think of the top of my head at the moment. |

I don't knwo how to say it in english, but we have a veery good ideom in Russian. The meaning is: your idea about blunt katana is ridiculous to the point of absurd. /QUOTE] The shinai and bokken, vaguely-katana-like "swords" made of wood that are used in the art of kendo, are excellent examples of blunt katanas. If you've never seen one, http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/9431/shinai.htm has a half-decent photo that compares them to a standard katana. Beyond that, Nobuhiro Watsuki is probably turning over in his grave. Well, he would be if he weren't born in 1970. His character Himura "Hitokiri Battousai" Kenshin made famous the notion of a "sakabatou" or reversed-blade katana. With the edge on the wrong side of the blade, standard attacks deal bludgeoning damage and Kenshin can beat people up without risking his conscience at the thought of slicing them to ribbons. I believe the English dub of this show is called "Samurai X". If you have some spare time, that show (but perhaps not the dub) is independently worthy: about half of the television episodes (those drawn from the manga, say) when taken as a unit are on par with Hayao Miyazaki's work (e.g., "Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited Away"). While I'm sure your idiom comes in handy in many cases, in my opinion this (the concept of a blunt katana) is not one of them. |

How about hitting Clay Golems with your fists - no weapon equipped ?
I think they are considered blunt weapons. Correct ?

![]() A very original idea, and yes, your fists are considered blunt weapons. However, there are two problems. 1) Since you are not a Monk, your fists are considered non-enchanted weapons 2) Excluding the Monk, fists are considered non-lethal weapons and can only knock targets unconsicious, not kill them. Not to say that it cannot be fun though... after all, my Sorcerer is in the habit of knocking out Dragons with his fists before stabbing them to death with his apprentices' dagger. |
