Seeing as how Luvian already paid a visit and decided not to close it. Well, you guys can figure it out.

Consent? Who said anything about consent? I was just pointing out a fact that seemed pertinent at the time.

Ok, it seems that Melusine and Slicer worked things out- apologies were proferred and accepted, so let's move on.
Remember to KEEP THIS FAMILY FRIENDLY or we'll have to close it down. edit: my connection's not so good today, so doing this in two parts to be sure I got it in. Link, Melusine voiced a concern based on the content of the joke. While you or others may not agree with her concern, she has the right to say it bothered her. Mel,I think Link didn't see the forest for the trees, so to speak, or he might not have reacted the way he did to your concerned post. If you both want to discuss it further, maybe pm would be best. It happens that I also understood the 'without consent' to be more of a 'get the other person in the mood' thing and not a rape scenario, but had I understood it the other way, I'd have been just as bothered by it as Mel is. THAT is not a family friendly image. [ 03-24-2004, 02:46 PM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

Grojlach - I presume you've never heard of the Brass Eye peadophile special? Its a half hour comedy program about the media's treatment of peadophilia and its one of the funniest and most astute satires I've ever seen. Just because its a joke about a horrible subject doesn't mean its in bad taste.

There's a simple formula for this:
When dealing with an offensive topic, the funniness of a joke is inversely proportional to the chance that someone will call you on it.
