That's a very good post Saz, I fully support it.
Durwyn, I am glad to hear you won't post stuff like that anymore, but I have one small comment to add: You've repeatedly asserted that we shouldn't have serious topics like these, but that we "should be talking about goblins and trolls". Well, this is the General section of the Ironworks, and chats about real life are not only allowed here, it's one of the objectives of this forum! You said before that this is a D&D board, but it's not - people can talk about anything here (provided that they're not being offensive or rude in the process ). Just thought this may have caused a misunderstanding on your part, and if so, I hope I could set it straight.

quote: Yes that's true, Durwyn. I suppose we should expect that if someone posts a topic that isn't complete fluff that there may be racists and bigots posting their opinions and upseting a lot of people. That doesn't make it accceptable though, nor do we have to put up with it, and we should not have to stop having meaningful discussions because some people don't understand about respect. And I would hardly call this thread controversial; the only person who was offensive was you. And for the record, I am not overweight, but I found your comments extremely offensive. I hope you are serious with your apology and this won't happen again

I think that you just need to learn a bit of tact, Durwyn!

Yeah tact, that's the word. I mean I always give my opinion no matter how far from the "norm" it is (ok except when I might really offend some people) but if you do it tactfully you can get away with it
