I'm glad you're playtesting, FD. As Uatu pointed out, Dinonykos was referring to the point that he's not that far along in his design yet.

Fleeing: I will post a bug report at SourceForge. As I mentioned earlier, fleeing is a known bug and was supposed to be disabled.

NPC attacks: even if the cursor is not on the NPC, if they take any damage from the area effect, they will become your enemy.

Credits: I don't think you need to list each piece of artwork and who did it (unless you want to), but you should list each source.

Uploads:you can email it to me, and I will put it up on the DC site hosted by SourceForge, and then send you a confirmation so you can start advertising. Also, if you are a member of the Yahoo List or Google group, they have spaces for files that you can access yourself.

Not insulting anyone, just curious....
It happened when I turned.
I haven't used any area spells yet, much less hit my NPCs with any.
I'll -try- to e-mail it you.

Yeah, the only time I've had problems with this has been turning undead. I still dunno whats up with your NPCs, tho.

ST
ps, if the NPC was made hostile and then you saved the game, the NPC may stay hostile. I am just guessing here, tho. I have not been able to recreate this, but I haven't been really testing for traitorous NPCs.

Concerning "playtesting": I meant it exactly that way Uatu and Manikus mentioned. I am not in that state yet, I certainly test each event, but I have not yet tried the whole mod.

Concerning NPCs: Maybe I am double-posting, but if I remember right, while friendly NPCs may attack, friendly monster NPCs do not attack the party in any case (even if aimed at during combat), right? So it should be possible to exclude the NPC from combats (in the NPC creation menu) and then add him/her as friendly monster NPC in combat.
Right? Not right? I am not sure, but I remember myself testing that a year ago - and it worked.

I have not tried this trick, but will give it a test when I'm done with finals in a week or so.

Another thought that came to mind, is that it may have something to do alignment (wouldn't that be cool) or maybe with morale, though I'm not sure for either.

That could be a feature request, that alignment could give a chance for NPCs to turn traitorous or jump ship in mid combat. Another idea is where you could define a %chance that NPC joins enemies on a combat event.

Bah... Re: Um....

I have a big problem. This morning I tried attaching a .zip file to a e-mail and send it to myself (just to see if I could attach a file that big), no dice. Hotmail says it's too big. It's about 18,770 KB. I can't post it here, can I? Manikus, you mentioned a Yahoo Group, if I sign up there, could I upload it to there? Anybody got any ideas? This is so frustrating....

18.1MB is bigger than any web email can handle. Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, are all in the 4 to 5 MB range for a single file.

I have no idea about uploading it here. There is probably a limit for attachments, but I don't what it is.

Here are your options as I see them-
#1) Join the Yahoo group and upload the file there. You can then advertise here, and anyone who is not a member of the yahoo list can join to get your design. You can also, of course post on the Yahoo list to let everyone there know there is a new design for them to download and play.
#2) PM Ziroc and ask him if he is still willing to host designs for DC. If yes, he can tell you where to upload, if no, then choose another option.
#3) Use a free file storage site such as ShareCG, DivShare, etc. (there are a bunch of sites, but I"ve personally used these two and was quite happy with them).
#4) Start a new thread asking if anyone here can host your demo.

Hmm - I think I have sent larger files than 5 MB with Gmail, but 18 MB might be too big...

If you sign up for a xthost.info website (no e-mail confirmations or anything, you will be ready instantly), you can upload it there (you have a maximum of 30 MB which you can do whatever you like with). Of course, you will have to make an HTML index page or something as well...
