So you admit that you don't see the big bang. You see something (movement of galaxies) that (according to you, at least) shows us that the big bang happened. Just like other people see signs that show (according to them at least) that God exists. Difficult?

EDIT:

Not at all. Each to their own.

I dunno, I'm not studying any sciences at the moment, but seeing the results of something doesn't necesarily tell you exactly what happened. That's like saying we've collected enough data on the weather of earth to say without doubt that human activity is the decisive cause of global warming. We may have a lot of influence in that, but how do we know that say 60% of it isn't natural weather cycle on a larger patern than we've had time to assess?

I dunno, I'm a bit sceptical myself that humans are driving climate change.

But I'm not sure how that would be applied to the Big Bang. How can something be 60% responsible for the expansion of the universe?

The main point you may have guessed (I'm assuming you literalism is somewhat sarcastic) is the difficulty of assess the cause based on nothing more than the results.

FYI: Speaking about religion on these forums usually leads to nothing but problems, so its best to just leave those discussions at other websites. You guys already know this.

Red shift isn't caused by the big bang. The galaxies are moving away from Chuck Norris.

Can we discuss Chuck Norris on this website too?

Of course not, Remember in the eyes of some, Chuck Norris IS God. The anciet sect of religious warrior monks called Norrisites. Clearly discussing Chuck Norris would be a religious matter. :p

Chuck Norris is god? You infedels! Chuck Norris created god in order to have a buddy to arm-wrestle with that wouldn't automatically lose. Sadly, Chuck Norris still won.
