I do have a daughter, and if something like that had happened to her, the article might well have been about me.

As can be gleaned from the OP, the man did not have the "right" to do it, however, to me, this issue isn't about a right to do anything. No person should be permitted to live that molests children.

I've got two boys... and I'd kill a rapist without thinking twice if I caught them while I was still hot... and I'd be hot for a LOOOOONG time.

They could sent me to prison... whatever... if it saved another child from the same fate I'd consider it time well spent.

I would kill the man who raped my kid, if I had any kids, or if they raped my little brother or sister. However, I would submit willingly and gladly to whatever sentence the court gave me. I broke the law and should be punished.

nah, I still think taking someone's life is wrong. But making him suffer, I doubt I'd be able to stop myself given the chance to kick his ass. Plus chop his balls off so he can never do it again.

I personally think that rapists of any sort should die publically and painfully. The knowledge that you are going to die horribly is enough to stop mnay casual criminals who don't see prison as such a bad thing (heck, they get 3 meals, daily showers, a library, tv--shoot, they live better than 10% of those in the US right now).

Unfortunately there are those who have mental problems or others who are just bad people, and knowing that they will die for thier actions is not enough to deter them. In that case, we need to get them out of the gene pool.

And for any who say that it is not right to punish people who do not understand their crimes because they are mentally challenged, I say that it is not right to allow these people to be out in the world raping others.

There are three types of people that really need to be wiped out of existance (if that is possible). The first are the rapists. the second are the people who go on random murdering sprees. And the third are these nut-job corporate big-wigs who have more money than God, but decide to screw over all of their workers by ruining the company so that they still walk away with enough money to buy China, yet everyone else is screwed.

Sorry for my bit of a rant, but this is a topic that I feel pretty strongly about. It is a good thing the world never has to worry about me being a dictator, otherwise it is quite possibly that the criminal population would be severely thinned out...

First off was the child rapist actually found guilty in a court of law or was he a victim of malicious comments by the child? If the man was 17 and the girl 15 and the act was consensual it may be that he is guilty of statutory rape. I do put my faith in the legal system, sometimes the judges do get it wrong, but usually they are privy to information that is with held from the public. In general though the law must be allowed to run its course otherwise Anarchy rules.
