I have no need to take part in this boycott, for I have never been there and dont ever plan to.

the only time i entered was (ps2 controllers for PC) was the sale for like 8USD. EB games here in aussie still stocks a reasonable amount of PC games although I do worry the trend you find in the US may worm its way here in Aussie

They have always had console games, but years ago, they carried pretty much every single pc games that came out. You wanted a rare game? You went there. They even had shelves for pc accessories and racks full of strategy guides. Now you go and 3/4 the store is taken over by consoles. They still do carry more rare games than other retailers in my area, but there's no doubt their pc section has shrunk and isn't their main interest anymore.

I wonder.. If there are any Software Etc left, will they go console only? Then Be called Consoles Etc?

I remember working at Babbages and Software Etc. Both were awesome in the mid early to mid 90's.

I heartily agree and up hold the boycott. The 2 EB that I used to go to in Jacksonville has ~ 4' section of games. ( Walmart has more). It used to take up the back wall. I stopped going there when they stopped the buy back / credit for used games policy ( great way to get rid of crud like dungeon lords). I will say it has forced me to be more judicious in what I buy. Now I only buy stuff on line ( Amazon etc.)

Yet these jackasses come into computers (where I coincidentally do all my stocking mostly), stand around for about a minute watching the lone computer guy on shift because we can't hire anymore, then come and bitch at me first because a. They've been standing for "half an hour" waiting for some service and b. When I offer to try and help they turn me away because I'm not in that department and just walk away with a huff. When you guys go in to whine about stuff, try to be at least respectful of the associates. From some of your comments here, I can see that some of you are of the type that treat them like dirt for following company policy. Don't argue for the sake of arguing, we aren't going to bend for your benefit.

And that attitude, sir, is why your company sucks ass and I won't buy from them. Nice to know the "don't give a shit" attitude that management has has been able to trickle down to you guys.

Originally my beef was simply a retarded return policy. Now you've simply added fuel to the fire. /salute

The point of the reciept policy is to prevent theft. Anyone could have just walked in, grabbed the product off the shelf and walked up to customer service with it pleading your case. So do you see why these asswads wouldn't take it now?
Um... no. If you have ever been to a BB, you'd know that merchandise gets tagged at the door on the way in. I'm not surprised a BB employee doesn't know the procedure, though -- such incompetence is a running theme it seems.

At any other retail store -- if you don't have a receipt you can still return the merchandise, but you can only get store credit, not cash. Which is what we wanted.

So, I have to go do RL things now, nice confirming how much you guys suck -- thanks.

I noticed that as well about 5 months or so ago. EB games seemed to have gotten rid of there large selection of PC Games. They used to have tons of selection, not they only seem to stock the best sellers. Walmart now has a larger and better selection of PC games. Compusmart seems to have reduced there selection as well but there online store has a good selection. The worst part is now I have to shop around for something I would be interested in. You used to just be able to go to EB Games and they would pretty much have anything you wanted and you could always buy used for dirt cheep now I don't even see any used PC games. Lots of console games but no PC.

Walmart has an awsome return policy if they have the product in stock they will provide a gift certificate with or without the receipt. So if you buy a product at Worst Buy and Walmart has it they will give you a refund in the form of a gift certificate. Basically it is because they can resell the product, and you get to use your money at there store as you could not prove it was bought there. It is a win-win for everybody. Plus they get customers who are pissed off at other stores return policies. Great strategy. My only beef with shopping at Walmart is the crowds can get to me, and it can be hard to find good help due to overwhelming crowds. Costco has a good return policy as well but you do need your receipt.
