so johnny as a veteran forumer, what in your view, is the reason for the activity on all these boards slowing down?

Dragonshadow, good luck in finding the right subject. I'm betting you will find one you like and can do well in if you think about it.

Lack of new RPG's ? We can't talk about Baldurs Gate until the end of times, and that game is the main reason why this board grew so big in the first place imho. Nowadays it's games like WoW and all that other online crap, in which i'm obviously not interested, so i spent my days here in GC, making useless posts.

Oh...and having said that, it's those same online games that keep hordes of people away from boards like this, simply because they are completely addicted to stuff like WoW or Guildwars. I personally know several people who used to come here quite often, but are now completely hooked on online gaming. I even know a guy who's marriage ended because he couldn't stop playing WoW.

you're joking. If you're not, that's ****ing ridiculous. What kinda guy lets a game end his marriage? Loser.

Same reason as i mentioned earlier, most boards i go to are RPG related, and RPG is kinda slow lately. People lose interest after a while i guess.

There's only one board i go to that doesn't slow down, but that's not really surprising, as it has over 125.000 members. If you start a topic there, it takes only a few minutes before it's a 4 or 5 page thread.

The games this board focuses on are all old and done to death.. something new needs to come or the focus needs to change. Spore and SimCity already have 2 fantastic sites which are thriving (both owned by the same guy.. great guy, Canadian too. )... it really all depends on what boards your looking at. The previously mentioned SimCity site has 200-400 members online at any given time, with new registrants coming in daily.. I think we figured about 75-100/day at one point. Now, SimCity's been out for what... 3, 4 years now? It's still booming! Ironworks needs to figure out how to keep it going like that, IMO.
