I missed the match, how did Cole do on the left wing? That's still the weak link if you ask me (and exclude goalkeepers). Rooney could play wide on the left, but I haven't got enough faith in Defoe or Owen to support that idea.

Haha He's played there for Everton and United before. He's strong enough to play right across the front line actually (I'm not talking about wide midfield). In fact, he can play pretty much anywhere on the pitch. Between Gerrard and Rooney you've got a full team.

Savour the moment, it won't happen again for a long time.
As a fan I should be optimistic, but your right, I think

I just hope we don't get a pasting by England tonight (Wedensday). My brothers going to the match, but I can't because I'm working. I'll miss it on the TV too unfortunately

It'll be 1-0 again, considering you're basically just Wales but a bit further away

Yeah, but its not the best place to play him. Personally i would have Owen up front, with Rooney just in behind him, Cole and Wright-Phillips on the wings and Gerrard and Lampard in the middle. Usuall defence. Controversial, no Beckham but i really do beleive W-P has a better all-round game, and frankly Beckham sucks as a holding MF, we have much better players at that role in the squad.

I do think Rooney could do a vastly better job than Cole as a winger, and he has no problem in creating goalscoring chances (for himself or others) from any forward area, so he'll still be getting goals.

As for Wright-Phillips, I just plain don't rate him! But maybe I'm biased, being a United fan
