It is like a hugh weight as been lifted off of my shoulders. It ticks me off a little that the Doctor got us all worried like that, I think she could have handled it better since she sounded so sure of herself.

I would be OK with either a boy or girl. The baby being healthy is the main thing. Although the benifit of a boy is I get to play with all those cool toys again as it gets older.

Awesome about the good news!! As for the doctor, would you prefer it if she didnt tell you anything about the possible problems? But, anyways, I'm glad your child is alright, and I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes without a hitch, other than the strange food cravings, lol!

She basically said to my wife: "You have low amniotic fluid, I don't think your baby will survive. I am telling you this because I don't want to get your hopes up. But I am sending you for more test to be sure."

A positive way: "I believe you may have low amniotic fluid so I will need to send you for more test to be sure nothing is wrong. While this could be a problem don't worry too much as many babies can end up being fine even with a low fluid."

Positive reassuring words, versus negative doomed words makes a big difference. She basically sent my wife home in tears. It was only after we did a little research did my wife feel hope that things could end up being OK. Just the way she said it that bothered me not the fact she told us of a possible problem.

We have had another problem with this Doctor as well. My wife is currently not working and she can not collect the EI she paid into although she will get maternity leave when she applies for it again in June. Her job required her to lift heavy dogs on tables, the Doctor told her not to continue but when asked refused to write a sick note to say she should no longer be working at this job, and she could not find another more suitable job. The EI representative warned us some doctors could be funny as this happened to her when she was pregnant, sick and could no longer work. My wife will lose about 10 weeks EI as a result but still get maternity leave when the baby is born. Suffice to say my wife will be seeing a new Doctor after the baby is born as I can not afford to support all her cravings on my budget . It isn't fun telling your pregnant wife that there is no more money left until the end of the month so that Dairy Queen Sundae will have to wait.

I am not to concerned about this right now as long as the baby is healthy.

Ah, I see. I was fairly certain that the doctor had just told you everything with little tact. And I wonder why she refused to give her a note? Yes, changing doctors sounds like a good idea. Again, great news that everything is ok. Good luck!
