[WoW] Horde Funeral gets raided with video

No I agree, it was funny. It was made like that with the music etc. and the switching between horde and alliance scenes. That's why while they have my sympathies I amn't particularly surprised by this. I do feel bad when you see how much they take pride in it but bah, like most have said, what can we expect?

Why not? Blizzard is a private company with a world it owns, creates, and runs. If it wants to set a level of behavior, it can. As one of its customers, I think it should ban the people who did this. If enough customers felt that way, it would ban them -- it's a capitalistic entity and wants to make money and will cater to the majority opinion, always.

This game ain't all about fairness and liberty. I'd love to have enough fellow gamers in WOW on my side to tell the company, "you must ban them." In the real world we have liberty -- but that aint WoW. My 2 cents.

The ambushers should not be banned, you can't legislate morality (and I agree with Bahamut: that was a pretty awesome ambush ).

I very much agree. It can do so and it should do so if it wants to. (Again, I hate people who compalin that everything should be permitted. This game was created by Blizzard, it's Blizzard's property, and if you don't like Blizzard's rules, don't buy the game).
But... but... but.. if it wants to do so, it should tell so customers who buy the game. I don't think it's fair if you paid money for the game, and then find out you are banned, because of something you did, which at the time of doing you had no reason to suspect was "illegal".

I did not oppose banning in general, only to your suggestion of banningin in this particular case.

And opinion of majority should be a guideline for Blizzard how to set rules, or "level of behavior" as you put it, for the future. But they can't ban the person only because the majority feels so. He paid for the game, just as this 'majority' did.
Of course if Blizzard wants to make a rule "if you buy this game, remeber, we can ban you anytime if majority says so", they are free to do so. You have been warned, you buy the game at your own risk (personally I'd think twice before buying a game with such a rule).

So in general:
Rules, Codes Of Behavior... etc on Blizzard's private property - YES.
This action (attacking the funeral) didn't break any rules set by Blizzard, so banning them now - NO.

Why couldn't they have it in Tristfal Glades. It is part of their territory and they woudln't get attacked in the first place. It is also a symbol of sadness too so that would of fit the funeral perfectly.

But yeah, they didn't break any of the codes of conduct, it is a pvp server and you are bound to be ganked by vicous 60's with full epics. I have already been so with Night elfs waiting at the gates to Hillsbrad, Gnomes to the edge of Stonetalon and Humans in STV. Personaly i think they should've taken out the Alliance when they first came there, Horde funeral after all.

Just out of curiosity, how old is this movie? Because at the bottom of the screen it has the figurines of the players on it and i havn't ever seen anything like that on my game.

Ok, not sure if I'm even allowed to have an opinion here, but I believe that "buying the game" doesn't give you a license to do what ever you want, when ever you want. PvP or not, if you can't respect your other players, you need to be banned. These are the kind of people that kept me from playing Diablo 2 online. I got tired of people joining my game, and then killing me. Most of the time, I think it's because they can't handle anything in the world that's there to be killed. This could be a sticky wicket type topic though, but I think it says a lot about people's gaming styles. If you find something acceptable, you'll be prone to do it yourself. On my NWN's home server, you'll find yourself looking for another place to play. There are lots of them, but we don't tolerate PvP there, even though there are areas where it can happen.
If it had been a character funeral, I'd probably not bother to post, but when it's a player's funeral, and the scenery might be something she'd said she liked, I think it's just wrong, and action needs to be taken. After all, everybody that was raided paid for the game too.

The bottom line is that WoW is a game, and should not be taken too seriously, even when Real Life death is involved.

Perhaps the girl's clan leaders could have made a tribute webpage to her or something. Fighting is what WoW is all about, and by holding this 'funeral' in a PvP area the horde clanners were leaving themselves wide open for this. I wouldn't have joined in the ambush, but I don't feel sorry for the funeral goers.

The ambushers should not be banned, but they should definately watch their backs after pulling a stunt like that [img]smile.gif[/img] Don't get mad, get even.
