Oh, I KNOW I'm better than the violent mobs are. I'm not killing anyone, or burning the city and breaking the law because I cant get my way.

SOMETIMES you must respond to violence with violence. Sad, but a bloody FACT of life. Sometimes, its the only thing a human understands.

Do nothing? meanwhile, the city burns.........

Seriously though, as much as I post doom and gloom, dire predictions, and news on teh sad state of affairs within countries that have dealings with violent muslims, being proven right does nothing but fill me with sadness, I would love to be proven wrong once in a while when it comes to things like this...

A sad day for France, a sad day for western society, and a sad day for freedom when those who have given up their humanity attempt to use the freedom supplied by their host country to run amok. I remember asking during the riots that followed the Rodney King trial why the rioters destroyed and looted their own neighborhoods, they weren't harming those they thought were oppressing them, they were only making their own bad neighborhoods worse, I've been asking myself the same questions for the last 9 days.

All this would achieve would be to make more people violent, you'd have to kill them too. The people kill and riot because they don't get what they want. The army want peace, you are proposing they resort to the same tactics as the rioters when they don't get it. How then is the army any better?

Tap em on the shoulder and ask them nicely if they would pretty please stop their assaults ?

French riots hit Paris centre

On the tenth consecutive night of urban violence across France, rioting in Paris spread from the suburbs to the centre. Youth set fire to some 1,300 cars as well as shops, schools and police stations, making the disturbances the worst in years.

In many cities police clashed with rioters in African and Arab communities. A number of people were injured and more than 300 arrested.

The French government is holding permanent crisis talks and Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy has threatened the rioters with long prison sentences. However, the minister has been accused of fuelling tensions by calling the rioters "scum", prompting calls for his resignation.

The unrest began on 27 October after two immigrant youths were accidentally electrocuted at an electricity sub-station while hiding from police.

Arrest them. Try them. Lock them up. I know its difficult, but killing them (as so many have suggested) makes them martyrs to their cause. Deal with them in a fair way that doesn't create more tension, you're trying to calm the situation, not fan the flames. We all know how well the eye for a eye philosophy works down in Israel. Or...

...seems a very fair suggestion. However, it wouldn't work for those who's country of origin is france. Many of these people are the children or grandchildren of immigrants, you can't send them to a country their family hasn't lived in for a generation, nor would that country accept france dumping their criminals on them.
