Calaethis smiled and replied "I don't mind to be honest, I'm just sad at the moment - Alliene, I've never seen her so cold to me before." he sighed, "Its just, that, as a child - when she used to take care of me... she was never like this, and always there for me - now, she seems like someone else. I hope Lady Verloren's right and she does only need time." he shook his head, "sorry, I didn't mean to burden you with my problems. What about you? Did you ever have anyone that close to you? Who you knew was always there for you, no matter what?" he thanked the maid as she gave him his food, but declined the wine, "Just water please," he smiled, "Clear, cold and fresh". He waited for Aeris to reply.

Aeris blinked , then twice. Yes,I did have someone very close to me.My brother,Malar,he died when I escaped from the vile world of the underdark. I never saw him again. He was my only relief in the Underdark. My mother and father , vile people they were.I hated them.As soon as they learned I was escaping , they sent out the troops.They knew he was with him. I named my blade after Malar , to remember him by. Sometimes I think is still here.Looking for me. A silent tear rolled down his cheek. I'm sorry this has had to happened between you and Alliene. Lady Verloren is right,I'm sure,just give her time. Aeris smiled again.A started to eat again.He was very hungry. He started to have different thoughts about Calaethis.

Shadow yawned and opened his eyes, he looked down at Kai still fast asleep on his chest and smiled. Now this is the life, in a decent civilization with a beautiful female, even if she is a human.

"I'm sure you right..." Calaethis said sounding worried, "But... what if she has that time... and she turns out to be even colder then she is now...? What if... what if she turns into a monster like the rest of the drow!" He blushed suddenly, "Oh sorry! Really! I didn't mean to imply that because your drow, your a monster!" he shook his head and whispered to the air, "I'm such a fool." he looked at Aeris, "please excuse me, I suddenly don't feel like eating anymore..."

It's nothing to worry about. Alliene will turn out fine! I went through the same thing.My brother died.I was sorrowed and cold.I was lashed out at everyone.I relised that I should'nt take it out on others.I finally calmed down and got over.I turned out fine and Alliene will too.Just give her time my friend...just give her time. Aeris knew Calaethis' pain. He would have to try his best to help him,they all would have to try their best to help Alliene.

Calaethis nodded "Thank you, it means a lot to me..." he paused. "Your brother... you said he died.. saving you..? If you mother was.. as evil as most drow, she may have raised him... you know? Only to torture him again.. I'm sorry, I don't mean to open old wounds... but... if he escaped, there's a chance hes still alive, however slim..." he paused. "I hope Alliene will be allright really, she's more then a cousin to me....". He took a bite out of his cheese and bread, "You know, this is really quite good" he said though a mouthful, then blushed remembering his manners. He quickly ate whilst Aeris replied.

Before Aeris could respond - one of the men at the other table noticed the two youngsters - seeing an elf and a drow together, he roared with drunken laughter, "Oh this is too rare! look at this mates! An elf and a drow! Ha! I didn't think drow's were such yellow bellied stinking cowards... have a bowels turned to water boy? I hunt drow like you for a livin'! Your an easy catch - it'll be fun gutting you. Care to beg for your miserble life boy? If you beg nicely enough, I may just let you live - minus your scalp of course! The man bellowed with laughter. Back off,I don't want any trouble,leave the boy alone,he's just a child. "oh-ho, the elf doesnt like being called a child, do you little one? Maybe I'll pull your pointy ears a little bit, n tan ya hide 'fore I letcha go." Aeris glared at the man. His hand reached for the dagger,but he pulled back. why don't you both go crying back to your mothers with your tails between your legs? The Man's crew howled with laughter. The maids have all ran off at this point , one leaving to go get Verloren. Calaethis looked at Aeris,who returned the glance.
They both stood,ready for anything. oh so you DO want to fight, maybe your men after all! Well you had your chance! At em lads!!
4 men lashe out at them,Aeris and Cal,both seasoned warriors,moved away quickly and gracefully. Aeris rammed himself into one of the men,knocking him down. Aeris picked him up and threw him into the 2 of the others. Cal was busy with one. Landing each hit where they were ment to go. Cal slammed his fist into the man face. The man felt his warm blood go down his face.The man started into a berserk attack. Cal dodged the blows and landed one square in the man's chest,knocking the breath from his lungs. The man fell to his knees. The other gotten up And were ganging up open Aeris. Cal jumped to the rescue. They managed to finally knock them all out,at the price of destroying some furniture. So..perhaps ye are men. I doubt ye can bring me down! All skin you hides and own yer head,dark elf! The man swung a huge axe at the drow. Aeris dodged the heavy,but quick blows quickly. Aeris was looking for a way to attack the huge warrior. Aeris kept dodging the blow,one by one. He knew the man would tire,he knew he would need rest,he knew his attacks would slow,but the did'nt.The man kept at it. The made and over head blow and Aeris by a hair.The man's axe hit the floor and stuck.The man tried wildly to remove it.Aeris was quick to take the oppritunity.He hit the man square in the side of his head with his boot.The man feel under the force.Aeris then dived at the man and removed the dagger. The man lay there looking up and Aeris,who was holding the dagger at his throat. Leave now! LEAVE!!! The elf is just a boy,and you try and take his life! You are sick! If you ever see me again,it will be your last!! The man and his crew ran away.Not even bothering to pick up their equipment. Aeris hated to use such harsh words. He looked at the destructed bar. He frowned.He walked over to Cal. I hate people like that. It looks like we will be having some problems here now.

OOC: If anyone asks,me and Cal worked this out. Truely. Cal did I get your char right?

*grin* near enough someguy that was great! hehe. Yeah, you did get my char's character right. ok, now for the fun; fireworks... ***

Calaethis sat down heavily, and righted an upturned chair. He sighed, and wiped his hand on the table. The maid's remerged, and one walked down the stairs with an glaring Verloren in hand. Sheathing her twin scimitars, she caught sight of Calaethis - who sighed and took a quick look around the room - upturned furniture, a couple of broken chairs, this would not be pleasant... he decided.

Verloren looked around at the room - it was a dump, shattered furniture, and a few overturned tables and chairs. Then she saw Calaethis sitting down, and her features twisted in disgust. The room wasn't like this when she'd eaten half an hour earlier... Walking over to the young elf, she placed both hands on her hips and glared at him. He refused to meet her gaze, unwilling to get into an argument, Verloren looked at him in disgust and asked "Calaethis, what happened here?" her tone was dangerously quiet. He shrugged. "We were attacked by humans - Aeris and myself were sitting here quietly, talking, and a human insulted us - and well..." he stopped and looked up at her. "We didn't start this! Honest!" Verloren's hand snaked out and caught Calaethis's ear "I suppose you think that’s an excuse - Alliene has enough to worry about without you brawling like some commoner!" she snapped. "And you!" she said turning to Aeris, "you should know better - why didn't one of you come and find me?! I should thrash the pair of you! Between you - you've just about managed to destroy an entire tavern floor!" Calaethis blushed, slightly and was about to protest; but Verloren released his ear and took him by the jaw. "Not another word out of you!"

Calaethis sighed. It simply wasn't fair. Verloren wasn't even listening to him. Or Aeris. He was about to try to speak again, but saw Verloren's look - it was quite probable she'd slap him if he spoke out of turn. He sighed again. One of the serving maids curtsied to Verloren and said softly "My lady, these two didn't start the fight - it was one of the humans insulting the older elf because of his dark skin, calling him a drow or something, whatever that is? And asking if all his kind were weak..."

Verloren's eyes flashed dangerously, "I don't care who started it. These damages will have to be paid for. You two!" she snapped, "My room, NOW! I shall have a long talk with the pair of you." Verloren was particularly irritated; Alliene had enough trouble as it was; without these two adding to her worries. Whipping out Isak she swatted Cal on his backside with the flat of the blade, as he made to protest. He bit back a yelp of pain, and glared daggers at her. She tapped him with it again and said softly "Behave yourself. Remember where you are; or do you want to be treated like a child in front of everyone?" Calaethis stopped sulking, and allowed her to lead him to her room by the wrist, Aeris following behind. Before she ascended the stairs, Verloren threw a small bag, filled with a few gold coins to the barkeep, and said "This should cover the cost of the damage done by these two - for the rest, I suggest you take it off the humans that started this." Her tone was flat, and she was disgusted with what had occurred. They should know better! They entered her rooms, and she shut the door, the sound echoing with a eerie finality to it...

< when you get back lb assuming you have time - and check this, would you be so good as to lecture Calaethis and Aeris please? We'll post some stuff now, and edit as required... I can't really do Verloren lectures - btw, have I rp'd her well so far?> (btw, feel free to let loose the fireworks - don't dissapoint please? I'm looking forward to reading a stinging lecture - directed at Cal of course and lb, please don't roll you eyes and say "men" or "boys" hehehe. OR say "bloody males" hehe)

Once the door had closed, and the key turned in the lock, Calaethis swallowed and glanced nervoulsy at Aeris - hoping he'd take the lead. He didn't dare to say anything, for fear Verloren would hit him, he tremebled slightly, hoping that she wouldn't yell too loudly at him. It was all very well to take on four humans, but listen to a furious or even, midly displeased half-sea elven Queen being displeased at him? He'd rather take on a thousand humans! Especially since this particular half elf was so close so his cousin... In fact, she was the next closest kin to family he had in this group - since Alliene and Verloren called themselves sisters. He swallowed hard again...

Aeris returned the nervous glance. He did'nt have any idea what to say.
How he dispised humans,the fool they could be. He turned to Verloren. Please listen Verloren. Please do not yell at Calaethis. I take fulll responsibility for this.I should have done something more responisble. If there is someone who should be punished,then it should be me.
