That was a slight problem, but I always had a cleric or two handy in the party to kiss me better.
And when the thief Use Any Item ability kicks in (it does eventually) the arguement is null and void

But it's still difficult, especially when your cleric(s) (namely Anomen and Aerie) are engaged in battle with Lizard-men.
