(Hell, you could cast it back in BG1, even without ToSC installed.)
Viconia knows it.
Anomen knows it. (I think his lowest "incarnation" puts him at Cleric Level 11.)
I think that even Aerie knows it.
Given her eccentricities, it wouldn't surprise me if Jaheira knew it too.
Heh... perhaps I didn't phrased it correctly. It was supposed to be a cynical reply to daan's cynical bite: "Have you seen any Clerics that can cast Free Action actually in the Sphere?". If one can have a Cleric in his party by the time he enters the Sphere, he can also have one of the Free Action methods I mentioned.

[ADD] But you're right, there's no real need for me to specify Free Action. And making this post also made me notice an error: My Spell Dictionary describes Free Action as being a Level *2* spell. Whoops! [/ADD]
No problem.

Guys, he does not have a party. He is a SOLO SORC!

Tom, what spells you have?

Does Mirror Image protect from demon's hold?

SixOfSpades and Alson were just discussing how to improve SoS's site. As for Mirror Image... it will help.

Actually, Dundee, the +1 or better Blunt weapon isn't necessary: Get rid of the Clay Golem by luring it into the Reflecting Pool room with a Valygar or a Thief. If a newbie is dumb enough to walk right into an obviously alien Sphere without a Thief, that's their own damn fault, and Valygar does come as something of a "Package deal." (And if he's alive, he can kill the Clay boy himself.)

On a similar note, it might just be possible to move the Iron/Adamantine Golems out of the way by using Boots of Speed and some Invisibility Potions. Nearly suicidal, yes, but possible.

But no, we haven't forgotten that we're dealing with a low-level Solo Sorcerer here.
Tactics to get a Demon Heart without getting killed:
 • Summon as many Elementals as you can, and send them at a Demon. (One at a time at first, to try to get him to use up his Paralytic Gazes.) I don't suggest Fire Elementals, as the critters here are mostly immune to Fire. I would go with Air Elementals--I know for a fact that a single Aerial Servant can simply clean the Master of Thralls' clock.
 • Stand just out of a Demon's sight range (use Wizard Eye for this). Cast as many Skull Traps as possible, all on the same spot. Buff up with Stoneskin, Mirror Image, and Fireshield: Blue. Step into his sight range, and he'll hit you with a Paralytic Gaze, which you will probably fail. When he rushes forward to finish you off, he'll get nailed by the Skull Traps--and if he survives, the Fireshield might finish him off. ("Borrow" Kelsey's Cloak for the Fireshield: Green, if applicable.)
 • Stinking Cloud + Web. I've never seen an Unconscious Demon, but hey, it might just be possible.
Tactics for surviving the Power Core:
 • Invisibility is your friend. Cast it or down a Potion before you even go *in* there. Don't even bother with the container--it's not like you need the money.

This is why you make lots of save games... It takes the game a while to save your game, even if you Quicksave, but the trouble will be worth it once you find you actually need one of your saves.

A gamesaving strategy: before you head off to a new map area, manually save your game. (Find the save button and name your save.) That way, you can revert back to it just in case something bad happens. If you need to back the game up just a tiny bit once you're in that area, Auto-Save and Quicksave will take care of that for you. (I tend to use my Quicksave during what my father calls "Clint Eastwood moments," i.e., "It's quiet. Too quiet. Better save the game.")

If you want to get ready for another solo run, why not play with a reduced party first? Try your sorcerer character again, but this time take along a thief (Imoen, Yoshimo, Nalia, or Jan) and a sturdy fighter (Minsc, Keldorn, Anomen, Mazzy in a pinch.) Or, you can cut that down even more and just take Anomen along. His Find Traps priest spell won't disarm them, but you can get to know the general location of the traps and what defensive spells will absorb them...
