I hate to have to disagree with you donut. I'm more than happy to see my tax dollars get spent on multiple trials if it means that these bastards fry. I've always been a proponent of the death penalty, and I've been worried that they may not get it. I mean...if anyone deserves it...dont these assholes?

they may deserve it but i don't see we can judge that. who are we to take another man's life?

he has been STOPPED. no more people will die. whatever they do to him will not bring them back

i personally feel that he should be executed but not in a ridiculously tortuous or gratuitous way. just BANG!

I wasn't suggesting torture FF. Personally, I think the punishment should fit the crime. Bullet to the head. I just want to make sure the sick sonofabitch dies. Because if he doesn't, then, knowing the US legal system, he'll be out in 10 years with yet another axe to grind.

Nah, He should just be locked up for life with no parole if he is guilty. It usually costs more to execute them.
And if you are into idea of state sponsored vengeance,
being locked up for the rest of your life with no prospect of parole is quite possibly a fate worse than death.

I have created a poll on the other area on giving them the death penalty. I feel killing them does not allow them to suffer enough and it is a cheep escape out of life.

It would be better to place them naked in stocks outside so people can flog them because that is what they deserve.

Surely they will ne tried and convicted in Maryland where they have committed murder and where they were arrested. What possible reason could they have for trying them in Virginia or Alabama? Is it possible to try them in each state for the murders done there? Think of the cost of the trials! No it must be Maryland.
They'll be tried in Maryland, then Virginia and Alabama will try to extradite them for them to stand trial for the crimes thay have committed in each of those States. Each of the States has a responsiblity to it's citizens and laws, where they will serve their sentence will depend on what kind of deal the States work out.
I find that incredible, three trials.

The point I was trying to make John D (in my own subtle way)is that Maryland has a moratorium on executions at the moment whereas Virginia and Alabama do not. It hardly seems worth the time and money to try them first in Maryland when the next state will execute them.
Hey that's the American way
Seriously, they are accussed of committing crimes in 3 jurisdictions. One of the reasons I pay my taxes is for the court systems, if found guilty they have a debt to pay the states of Alabama, Virginia, and Maryland. Which ever state ends up executing them will be irrelevant. It doesn't matter here if one State does not have the death penalty, and the other does, States don't stop extradition because the State seeking extradition has the death penalty.
EDIT to Add:
If Alabama, and Virginia seek extradiction is up to the Attorney Generals of those States. ie: Ted Bundy was caught in Florida, found guilty of several murders sentenced to death. The States of Washington, Colorado, and Utah all could have sought extradiction but didn't their choice.

All I know is Virginia is a gimmee, they will give them the Death Penalty no doubt about it. What Maryland will do who knows, have to wait and see. Either way these killers are going down one way or another.

So glad to be able to walk outside now and not look about wondering if someone is in the woods aiming a rifle at me. It really is a time for celebration!

Maryland will ask for the death penalty but may not execute them. Plus I don't think Maryland has the death penalty for juveniles whilst I'm sure Alabama will have.

If the decision has already been made that they will be executed why not send them directly to Alabama and cut out the middleman.

BTW LadyZ and others on IW that were affected - I share in your celebration!
