Does anyone know if there's a difference between SIM and SIMM RAM or are they acronyms for the same thing?
Willow, the only thing that is a total cure is a Hystorectomy, which they only do in extreme cases. I researched this a while back. I'd try the medication before the surgery.

Harley, endometriosis can "spread" to the urinal tract as well. And that is something I wouldn't recommend to be removed. But yes a hysterectomy would cure uteral endometriosis. |

Harley .... SIMM - Single Inline Memory Module. They aren't common anymore I don't know if it is similar to a SIM though without context. Most memory nowadays is RamBus, SDRAM, or DDR SDRAM.

[/QUOTE]Yeah, I know, this is for a friends VERY outdated computer her brother gave her for free. I keep trying to tell her it's because it's so outdated. Anyway, she can't remember if he said the RAM type is SIM or SIMM. I can't find anything online giving a definition of either or telling me if there's a difference.

Then it's SIMM. Good luck finding a stick if she needs a replacement or upgrade!

take the SIMM (Single In Line Memory Module) to any computer fair and someone is bound to have an odd stick laying around....there are tons of ancient computer parts at the larger shows. (assuming you live near a fair sized city) |

check the pin count on her MoBo first. Also check how many slots are in each memory bank. MoBos that used SIMMs had either 1, 2, or 4 slots per bank. Every slot in the bank MUST be filled with the same chip type (capacity, speed, parity). The MoBo should have a group indicator on it to label the banks.
