True about the owners and agents. Sorry, I was just itching for a rant to millionaire athletes. I just don't get it when employers are willing to fork over millions to athletes for just playing sports when ALL that money could be used for something more uplifting, constructive, and productive towards the evolution of humankind. Sports IMO is not it. The USA is a very rich country yet we are also one of the poorest. With all this money, there are still starving, deprived, unemployed, undereducated, etc people in this country. We also are willing to spend billions to wage wars. Come on people. Let's get real and make real advancement towards an peaceful and enlightened world. We need to reset our priorities towards more meaningful goals than competition and wars.
I agree with you there, with all those billions of dollars there should be some way to enlighten our world. But since the beginning of time there have been haves and have-nots. The government does provide welfare for some that continue to abuse it by not working when they could and sucking more tax dollars out of hardworking people. And who's to say if you give a homeless guy 50 bucks for food and new clothes he won't turn around and use it on alcohol. I'm just saying it would be great if that could happen but may not have a chance in hell to work. In the meantime sports and sports icons are a way to keep many kids off the streets and out of trouble. And at higher levels they can get an education by playing ball for a college and go on to make a more meaningful difference in the manner you expressed. But for these kids to have that dream they have to see these ball players on TV and emulate them and that is where profession sports does good things. [/QUOTE]Yeah they're off the streets yet STILL manage to get in trouble or even worse when all that stardom goes to there head and then they behave like gods. Its worse when the media and the public plays up to it and makes idols out of those so-called entertainers. IMO that notion of college education and athletic scholarship will make you a better person isn't perfect either. It boils down to just one thing, the Individual. If he ain't got it straight in his/her head and heart, then they ain't worth the money or the privilege to be iconized. IMO people need to stop worshipping others and just believe and empower theirselves. You don't need to be like so and so, just be you and stop trying to get others to idolize yourself. That ain't going to work out for the best for either person. When people idolize others, you are basically giving up your power to that other person. Thus, they are empowered. Lok at what's happened throughtout history and today even with dictators, irresponsible leaders, etc. Too much power in the hands of the few and it starts with the individual. Each and every person in this world has that decision to make everyday. Just how much power will you give away. Its a real self-responsibility that we are all born with and must live with.

It seems that one of the states (Minnisota I believe but don't quote me) is trying to pass a law that if at any time durring a consentual sexual incounter if one of the partners says enough then the sexual incounter must stop. I wonder if that works both ways or just for the woman. Could the man claim rape if he gets done then says stop and the woman wants to continue? You just got to love lawmakers

I think that the media should stop making such a big deal out of this. If it was an ordinary guy nobody would have made such a deal. It's his private life, leave him alone.
