Congratulation mate!
I've got a new daughter in my house as well, so I can empathize... The good news is that with the baby being that big, he shouldn't have long to go before he can eat enough to get himself through the night. Once babies are 14lbs. or so (so the "experts" say) they should be able to eat enough to sleep through the night. Works for some, not for others. ------------------ Now where did I leave that doughnut?! |

Thank you, everyone, for the congratulations.
I think I posted earlier that the entire nursing staff knows me, on sight, as the father with the big baby boy. In addition I had a man I have never met before (also a new father apparently) come up to me and ask "how's that big baby boy of your's?" We have no idea why he's so big. Furthermore, my wife is not a big woman (ouch is right). The family is fine, although it will be another two days before they are home. Consequently, I am spending a lot of time at the hospital, most of which is spent changing diapers, burping, or holding him. Today we I started reading Beowulf to him. He didn't fuss, which I interpret as him being riveted by the story and awestruck at my exceptional ability to read out loud, implementing the appropriate voices (dripping with sarcasm). Well, after a few more posts, I will be off to nap and then it's back to the hospital for me. I'll write later. ------------------ onthepequod |
