Ertai, you're saying regular fighters are useless? What are you smoking? Barely anyone appreciates advanced specialisation anymore. Also, the plain idea of an anti-paladin is stupid. It makes about as much sense as a 'shadow druid' and never should have been put into AD&D to begin with.

Well Armisael, some people are stupid enough to play these characters anyway... and G.W., i think that reject party of yours will make a great one! I think I will give it a shot...

Bahamut, G.W. do you guys read the posts or not? I'm reading about people who USE the Barbarian class. It's one of the best in the game for more than a few people (yes 200hp for a Half Orc Barbarian is attainable). So why keep including it in the 'reject class'?

The Totemic druid was my first character and by far the coolest up to D'Arnise Keep I think. The animals you can summon are REALLY great, they do alot of damage and can take alot too. Good if you can summon more than one, I could win almost any fight. Then for some reason at the keep my monsters turned on me and i went down pretty quick. I tried all the other druid classes and I say that the Totemic Druid should be ranked up there pretty high. The Avenger druid, or the one that can turn into were wolfs didnt prove that useful when I played because I couldn't hit ANYTHING as the regular were wolf and then I cheated and got the greater werewolf and it wasnt all that much better. Anyways, thats my perfect opinion guys.

Hmm... I guess the barbarian isn't that rare. But saying the real rarity, the "pure paladin" is a bit uninteresting since just about everyone played the paladin in BG I, including me ("Sir Flanders"). Replace the barbarian with the Beastmaster if you prefer (because those are definitely rare).

Yep! The Cavalier has made the pure Paladin suck... yuck... I am not for druids... rather be a barbarian... never had this attitude of think first and action last... I get pretty pissed off when I don't tank... so... Im gonna be a Barbarian... if I want to that is..

Wizard Slayers aren't THAT bad. They can still use magical weapons and armor. Their biggest drawback is they can't use potions.
I'm using an Assasin/Fighter right now. Working pretty well. |

My class of choice, for Paladin, would have to be Cavalier...
after getting the holy avenger, and having no Paladin (gotta get Keldorn) I have been given new inspiration to play as a Cavalier... It is something I have always wanted to do, and I guess I would do it mostly coz I identify with the class |

Well Armisael I have to reply your 2 points:
1.- I have said that figher KITS are worse (in my opinion) than a REGULAR fighter. And didnt say useless (but its applicable for the mage slayer. By the way, he cant use potions ?? So you have to go over there with a good weapon, good armor, no rings, no boots, no anything, and cant heal yourself ?? IŽd prefer a naked level 1 beggar than this) 2.- And the Anti paladin isnt a stupid idea i think. Why a good aligned fighter can be a paladin (with all the abilities it gives to you) and a evil fighter canŽt have its own evil abilities ?? The same goes for the ranger. Why there cant be a evil ranger ?? Maybe he wont get the same advantages as a good aligned ranger but HELL, there should be more evil character kits. If you take a look at the classes, there are kits ONLY for good characters and NO KIT ONLY for evil (except the Talos cleric). Good has much more variety than evil and MANY people like to play as an EVIL CHAOTIC HELL GUY (or girl ). Well, just my opinion |
