Larry Silverfall 23/23

Having calmed down with the assurances of Morgie of the unlikleyhood of the sound coming from the were-cat...unless that was the scream of a victim she ahd murdered...Larry managed to calm down somewhat. He smiled with the half-attempt to appear clever and said,

"You don't know the half of it!"

He then turned to watch Morgie scamper off toward the unnerving noise. He looked at his own hand, which had barely been able to draw the sword he now held in his quivering hand, albeit the nervousness of the situation had declined exceedingly.

Without looking up at Joseph, Larry spoke again, but with a renewed sadness in his tone...

"I was not always like this. Things have changed..."

OOC>>>Going back to my original thought of Andrion's flight versus the time change in taking the shadow door...

For Andrion

In a few hours time, you were able to come up West of the castle, and you continue North-West from there. After not too long, your owlish ears pick up conversation. You alter your course to investigate.

You are exausted because you have been flying all night and well into the day. At least you're not hungry. You already took care of that detail.

Kynnen 84/85

Without a word or a thought, the presence vanished from Kynnen's mind, leaving Kynnen alone. The manner of leaving sent Kynnen a clear message: Expect no more help from the reaper. Another potential nemesis. Kynnen looked into nothingness, thinking if there was a single creature out there who knew of him and didn't want him dead. Not likely, he thought. Well, then I guess that the Shadow Mage is mine and mine alone. Kynnen's thoughts returned to his escape.
"Ilythiri Volans." he commanded, and mildly jumped toward the window. He landed just a foot away from where he stood. What? "Ilythiri Volans!" he insisted, and jumped high into the air, but went down all the same. He looked to the side, and said another set of command words "Ssussunen, lil'alure, jivvin!", but the dimly lit corner remained dimly lit. It didn't even darken when Kynnen commanded "Oloth buat'leb!"
"No!.. No... Cha'kohkev shinduago." Kynnen threw his glance out the window, and then jumped out himself. He landed in a roll, his huge sword making it clumsy, but Kynnen quickly rose, and ran to the nearest bushes. He started creeping on the right side, to go through the gardens and avoid the guardsmen.

OOC: Kynnen tried to use Levitate, Dancing Lights and Globe of Darkness, his innate abilities. Then he cursed the surface world.

Andrion Wilgor 22/22

Tiredness swept over him in waves as a rising tide coming further and further up the shore. It was only a question of time when sleep was going to take him down, as the lifetime of a sandcastle standing against the tide is also limited. But as a child building a new sandbarrier against the rising tide extends the lifetime of the sandcastle, so did hearing voices suddenly wake Andrion from the almost sleep he had been in.

He knew that as the sandbarrier only gives momentary protection so these voices would only keep him awake for a few minutes. He planned on checking out the voices, as he had done with the previous ones he had seen and whatever he found he would sleep. Only if it was Larry, would he contact the mage before sleeping.

He spread his wings, and after the tired muscles responded to his commands he flew towards, where the voices came from.

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

Failure. The death of many good men. Failure. And then, another chance.

For a long time he lay, sometimes desiring to return to his final rest, at others scolding himself for the mistakes he made. A personal test he had not completed to his own, let alone the powers', satisfaction. There were moments he simply rested, recovering from death. There were occasions where he listened, hearing the footfalls, breathing, words around him. Painting an image of his surroundings in his mind. That would be the tactician deciding on his next move. For deciding, he was.

The facts remained, constant. He was alive. To throw that gift away was to fail again. He had died for his cause, and would again, though he might have taken better care of himself. He had caused the deaths of others, by exposing them to Silverfall and his assassins. That would take atonement and the warrior pledged to confess his sins and accept proper penance at the soonest oppertunity.
He found his hammer by his side, and so there was only one other conclusion to draw. He was to live to continue his quest after repairing what damages he had caused to the best of his abilities. He would set out again a cautioned man, for now he had witnessed first-hand the shadow's grip on Silverfall, and had been thoroughly reminded of his own mortality in the face of those who abuse magic. He would write and send another inquisitor after the wizard he had faced here in the hall, for the weave of shadow magic he had sensed before was most disturbing and spoke of a greater taint and influence of the Mage than he had dared imagine.

When finally he sat up, his face had hardened and the steel in his eyes was sharper than it had been.

"I would know of the deity who graced us with life."

- essentially, he's looking for someone fit to take his confession.

Anarrima 57/67

Ana smiled at the male human cleric, who was seeming to take a little longer than the half-elf at fitting back into a life returned. She spoke to him his answer.

"The Goddess Ahurani Fairhand was envoked to return your wandering spirit back to the flesh, human. She guided us to you and your companion...and gave me permission to pray over you."

OOC>>>Legolas should know the following:

-Ahurani is a water goddess from ancient Persian mythology. She watches over rainfall as well as standing water. She was invoked for health, healing, prosperity, and growth. She is either the wife or the daughter of the great god of creation and goodness, Ahura Mazda. Her name means "She who belongs to Ahura". Borrowing some traits and of course her name from the above description, she has been adapted to suit my needs as a goddess for Anarrima.

Marcos should know the following:
-Ahurani is an elven goddess of light and life.

Joseph

Perception is a powerful thing for perception is the gateway to knowledge. Even that most curious way of knowing called faith depends to some extent upon perception for that which is not perceived to be true, to be trustworthy, or simply to ‘be’ cannot be the object of belief. In perceiving the world, one might come to know the world, or one might mistake mere perception for the genuine coin of the real and the true and in so doing fail to know nothing more than the world of his own misperceptions. Even, indeed especially, those with the keenest of senses are vulnerable to that which might control and shape perception, for the keen sense is a sense whose accuracy is taken for granted and whose perception provides the measure which separates the true from the false.

Senses, of course, are not simply physical. There are also internal senses, those deeply emotive, intuitive and personal manners of perception by which one comes to know himself and his place within the world his physical senses perceive. Masking the youth from the physical senses which seek after his life is a rather simple matter. More difficult, yet clearly more important for his survival over the long term, would be the broadening of whatever truncated perception of himself keeps him a frightened and confused victim. “And who’s to say that things will remain this way?” he responds to Larry’s statement. “Now be still a moment.....”

His voice falls to little more than whisper and his slender arms trace a brief and graceful pattern before the young man’s eyes. A few seconds of whispers punctuated by movement are all that physical sense might perceive. Yet, even in their perceiving of whisper and gesture the organs of sense themselves are changed. The young man’s eyes change in color and the lines of his face shift into the aspect of an older man. The color and length of his hair shift and the color of his skin takes on a healthier cast. A few pounds of additional weight supplement his form. His hands fill with a workman’s calluses, a fitting complement to the deeper, more confident tone he shall find in his voice once he begins to speak. His scent is changed and he stands an inch or two shorter than previously. His garments as well change to conform to this new form, simple and sturdy and muted in color.

In the passing of but little time the form of Larry Silverfall lies hidden beyond the power of sense to perceive.

Placing a hand upon the shoulder of the young man, he says quietly, “No fussing.” Stepping back from him, he allows his voice to slide into the direct and simple notes of a common traveler, “Now why don’t you be seeing about finding us a place to make camp?”

Larry 23/23

It was amazing. He watched as his hands became foreign tools, and his clothes change even as they remained on his body.

"This is indeed new magic to me! Why...I had once been turned into a small furry rodent in the early days of this game world, but it was different than this. I feel the exact same as I did before, but I know that I am not! It is a strange magic you weave, Joseph...strange, but very beneficial."

He thinks for a moment.

"Ah yes...before my fall into the shadow self, I had been an accomplished ranger. I knew how to find great camping areas of security and convenience. Let me see...."

Larry looks about, and knowing that his new life was that only of a ranger at his beginning of experiencing the world, he doubted that he would have retained the know-how on finding suitable cover. There was another way. It would mean delving deep into his memories and hoping to avoid any dark shadows that lay there in the way. He might also run the risk of bumping into the Mage that he once was while there, and having another conflict of internal personalities. All of this would be to do nothing more than locate a place within the woods in order to camp appropriately. It was not worth it. He did not even know how this Joseph would take to any...accidents...that might occur along the mental journey. He decided then that he'd just go along with his new knowledge base.

"Well...I would rather not not remember my old life at this time. I am sure that I am capable of basic forestry work such as this. Let's go."

Larry led the way off of the path and into a thicket of wood. He observed a cold stream that was running away from the mountains looming in the distance and decided that this would be great. He followed it upstream for a ways until he found an area that seemed built by nature to be the spot for a travelling company to desire for camping.

"This is the place. We have the noise of the stream to mask our mundane sounds, and water close by to douse out the fire if danger is nearing. That small hill there is just high enough to not be affected by the stream's laughter, so it would serve well as a lookout. A physical gesture or even a stone tossed into the camp from there would be easy to alert the other if anything was spotted, yet as you see the woods provide a decent mask of the hill, so that one can see down better than one can see up, unless you were specifically wanting to be seen.

Will this suffice, Joseph?"

OOC>>>Remember that this campground was chosen by a man who is a level 1 ranger at this time.

For Kynnen:

Your fall was a success in that you did not alert the guards outside and to your left of your passage. You have passed through the bush and are approaching the gardens behind the castle. A door is open there, leading into the very room that you identify as the one you entered in earlier with Andrion.

=================================================

For Andrion:

You come across two men standing along a pathway that leads through a younger part of this forest, where there are but saplings and just a few older trees about. You do not recognize either one by sight nor scent. When you are close enough for your ears to discern the words being said, you hear..."Well...I would rather not remember my old life at this time. I am sure that I am capable of basic forestry work such as this. Let's go."

They turn and walk into the deeper part of the forest, out of your sight.

For Silt:

The guards had poured into the room behind the two elves Anarrima and Yevaud and began an internal investigation as to what may have happened in here. They were thus on their routes when one guard yells out...

"Halt! Identify yourself, elf!"

A guard had just rounded the corner and spied Silt and it appeared that the elf was trying to sneak past the posted guards. At the sound of alarm, the sounds of many footsteps could be heard from down below, hustling to the location of the disturbance.

The guard that has cornered Silt has his crossbow aimed and readied, and he is also a seasoned soldier from the calmness in his arms as he holds the elf in his sight.
