I'm going to go for #9 (partly #10 too), althoguh I think the Ravenloft world would amke a fascinating project. I was going to do a design set completely in the DragonLance world, in afct I was goign to write out a timeline for Dragons of Autumn Twilight, and try and follow it. I may still do that in a later project, if my current one is successful of course .. ;>

My current one will be set in a typical fantasy realm (to start), but then will incorporate a 'sliders' type of idea, where the characters will ahve to go through a progression of different realities. It is still very early stages however, as I am still correcting all the artwork for a 1024x768 design.

:>

Sounds nice, interesting ideas, resincake! Dragonlance is a bit hard to implement at this time, but Ravenloft would be a cool project to do (that is mostly plausible right now).

I live on the West Coast of the U.S. and while you can certainly get by just speaking English, it really help to know Spanish and to a lesser extent Russian and in parts of the larger cities, you should speak a little Chinese.

@resincake: Sliders? That sounds cool. Is it just going to be into other fantastical worlds, or were you thinking about throwing some "technology" in there?

Well, It would be about 75% fantasy setting (based on my current written design), but I have the artwrok,SFX & MIDIs, and plan on incorporating:-

Prehistoric
Modern
Future
Alien

As well as a variety of genre-based realms (ie./ horror, military, etc..), so to answer your question Manikus, yes, there will be technology too, but the items and such (guns, armour, shield generators,etc..) I'm not sure about yet. I already know the 'monsters' & 'NPCs' will be using realm-specific items, but I am unsure if to allow the PCs to use these items too. There are pro's & Con's for both arguments, taht I ahve come up with. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, you know .. ;>

Sounds very cool. I can't wait to see screenshots, etc as you make progress on this.
I've always been intrigued by the notion of a multiverse and traveling between the different 'alternate' worlds.

Prehistoric and future is often included in standard AD&D, of course (cavemen, mammoths, and dinosaurs are standard fare, while various modules like City of the Gods include medieval PCs ooing and ahing at the light sabers and lazer guns that they find (and use!))...

Does that mean there are stats for "future" weapons? That would be nice. I wonder if the Buck Rogers Goldbox games use them...

Yes there are! However, none were ever included in an official sourcebook (they are all in the modules/articles in which they appear). Stats for androids, robots, and so on are also treated in the same way.

Other than the module you mentioned, are they mostly in Dragon Magazine? I have access to those, but not really to modules.

Mmm - not sure, I haven't read all that much of Dragon magazine (just noticed a few before, wasn't that interested at that time so didn't read very thoroughly!).

The modules are more "official," and it is interesting, as a lot of the monsters taken from modules and added to Monster Manual II (yellow musk creeper, vegepygmies, etc.) were taken while futuristic creatures (robots, androids) were ignored.

I will probably do a robot or two (icons?) soon, but...
