Jan is not a dualclassed character. He is multiclassed.

Humans dualclass.
Non-Humans multiclass.

Oh, and Kensai->Mages rock in melee.

Mirror Image, Stoneskin, Improved Haste, etc... ...

ok. Just looked in the manual and figured that out. Thanks anyway. What weapons can a Kenai/Mage use?.

According to the Munchkin Guide, Katanas are the weapon of choice and dualwielded. Other alternatives include Quarterstaves.

Kensai/Mages can use any weapons. I always like to have mine either with 2 weapons or 2 handed weapons. It just seems weird to have an incredibly offensive minded class like Kensai/anything use a shield. However, it makes sense to maybe try 1-handed style. That seems more like parrying than defense. Never tried though....

Kensai is my favorite class. Challenging early on, but they become whirling dervishes of death later. Kensai/Mages just rock! Imo katanas are best for them. They just fit with the class. And if you have the bonus merchants you can get one that lets you cast extra spells. If you're soloing, long swords or two-handed swords might be a good choice too, since there are so many in the game.

I normally go for celestial fury and daystar dule wielded. I've just downloaded that extra merchant thing so I'll have a look at them. Thanks for your help everyone.
