Lets be frank, here, people. Everytime we have to defend our right to play video games, we have to defend Rockstar. Personally, I don't think that they make quality video games... I liked GTA III, but Vice City? Not so much. San Andreas? It had nice aspects, like being able to fly planes, but that's about it. So, if they offer mediocre game quality, and somewhat senselessly obscene content...well, I don't mind refering to them as douche-bags.

However, it must be admitted that our society is getting older. We demand more mature aspects of our culture. Violent video games are the same in that regard as parents sleeping together in the same bed on your favorite sitcom. This is not a bad thing, as our society cannot keep making itself kid-friendly when children make up less and less of the population, and the population needs more and more content which suits the needs of older people.

I, for one, will never support an encroachment upon my first ten amendment rights. I'll own a gun, not testify against myself, and have whatever opinions I choose about the government. As Americans, we can do all of those things. I'll also realize that I need to teach my children the difference between reality and fantasy, especially as fantasy becomes ever-more prevalent in our society.

It's our responsibility to the next generation...not to pass laws against violent video games, which can possibly be amended to include other provisions, but instead to promote knowledge of the difference between fantasy and reality.

How we've stumbled into a situation where the youth does not recognize this line is beyond me...though, to be honest, it's not statistically sound. There are too few cases. Speaking as a scientist of sorts, and someone with rudimentary knowledge of sociology, these people are outliers.
