Heya everyone! Back on IW after staying away for a week. Had a "stuff up" with my pay. I only got paid just enough to settle the hotel bill. I love the way they call it a stuff up. Nice way of sayin' "we don't have enough money to pay you, but make sure you come to work on monday." Ya. Oh well, my holiday (or as close as i'm gonna get to one this year) is over i guess. Time to get back into working mode.

That covers most of it.

The trigger for the events was when two youngsters were killed inside an electrical transformer plant, supposedly while fleeing from the police.

What did they expect from several hundred kilovolts??
What bothers me the most is the reaction of the public. If those guys were running from the police, they must have comitted a crime, right ? So when they chose to hide in an elictrical transformer plant, in all their wisdom, and got electrocuted, one can hardly blame the police for doing their duty, which is chasing down guys who have comitted a crime, right ? Well, these fine people obviously think otherwise, and regard the police as the criminals here. A very logical way of thinking...if you're a Klingon.
This sounds very similar to a race riot incident in Sydney a couple of years ago. A well known juvenile troublemaker thought that the police were after him and managed to impale himself on a fence post after trying to escape on his bike. It turns out the cops were totally unaware of his presence, but the kid died and then the locals take it upon themselves to ignore any laws they disagree with for a few days. WTF?

Well, these kids getting electrocuted probably isn't the sole reason for the riots in Paris. More the straw that broke the camels back.

seams I just come in here and ignore everyone else, say somethings bothering me, then leave.

oh well.

People just want to feel like they are protected, even from themselves, the public outcry could be more a case of "why didn't you stop them"

But for it to keep going is just a sign of civil unrest, there's some deeper issues here, possibly somone rabble raising behind the scenes, happens, there are some sick people out there.

*and now onto what brought me in here*

My boyfriend got grounded till the end of the month or so.

Ouch, that's a long punishment, the months has only just started.

When you mean grounded, do you mean not allowed to go out, or the full whack (no phone, internet, anything)?

I'm still going strong at NaNoWriMo. Stayed up till 1am just talking to my friend on MSN. Weird thing is I wasn't tired at 1am, and I wasn't tired when I got up (about 10am) either.

I finished my wordcount (on the dot ) for today, so I'm pretty proud. Although I haven't thought of an overall plot, I have a few ideas.

*shrug* Five days, 8685 words. Not bad for someone who juggles my most important year in school so far, coursework and a girlfriend. I'm quite pleased with myself, but if I get to 50,000 and finish I'll be very happy indeed.

he folks

im back...
ok, nobody knows me

doesnt matter.

i was in america 2 weeks ago, and it was great! such a great country! i never thought(sorry for that^^) that the americans are so gentle. everybody was friendly, kinda mysterious^^
in switzerland you`re standing in a queue and everybody is looking at their feet.
in america you`re standing in a queue and after 1 minute somebody starts a conversation! first i was shocked about that spontanity(is that a word "spontanity" ? ^^). but after i while i really enjoyed it.

i`ve been to california, a wunderful country. ive seen lot of things, like the grand canyon or las vegas, and it was incredible. everything is so huge there. it starts with the quantity of ice cubes in your coke...
i mean, in switzerland you get 3 or 4 little ice cubes, and in america! in america you get 3/4 of your cup filled with gigantic icecubes^^
and than the distances...
oh my god!
you can go across my country in a bout 5 hours(with the car). in america its almost impossible to reach the nearest big city in 5 hours^^
than, the cars! wooohooo, you`d be arrested here if you`d drive this huge sized cars!

oh, and of course the california girls....hrhr

i hope i can return one day

ps. checking my faults would be great

Be glad you never were in a queue overhere, someone always farts and forces you to withdraw all the way back to the end of the line, unless you can handle the smell of rotten eggs.

grounded as in he's not allowed to go out.

He's still allowed to go to school/clubs/work, and can still use the phone and internet.

I'll be allowed over in about a week for a little bit.

Next time he wants to come over we'll ask.

I'm not sure a grounding where you can't go to school would be much of a punishment

Duagloth, you havn't queued properly 'till you've been to England. Nobody queues quite like the British...
