You and me, both, Chewie! I'm not the nightclub type these days.. never was into it much in my younger days, either. But I figure there are a zillion places for Mems to get out to in Boston, so he'll probably stumble over 10 his first day there!

Generally the further away from Boston you are the cheaper the cost of housing. You can hop a train from as far west as Fitchburg or drive down Rt.2 but like Chewie said parking is almost impossible to find. When I go into Boston I take Rt.2 to Alewife Station where there is a huge parking garage and pick up the T from there. I went to school there and used to know the Kenmore Square area fairly well. You'll like Boston. Well except for the drivers who are the worst on the East Coast

Well, after driving in Manila and Italy, I reckon I can drive in Boston no worries. Italy was BAD.

Which brings me to another question - how efficient are the Brown Bombers (ie the parking cops)? And how much is a ticket for parking illegally? Do they just ticket you or do they tow/clamp your car?

My sister and her husband lived in Italy for three years and if half the stories about the drivers over there are true Boston driving will be a cake-walk.

Congrats mate! I haven't got a clue as to if Boston is actually a good place to live, but I think you will thrive well over there. Somehow the girls seem to follow your path anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.

If, by chance, I get selected for the Minerva-project (a Dutch rowing project for which certain rowing clubs send their best under-23 years of age rowers) I might be sent to Boston to start the Head of the River Charles. I'll be sure to visit you then!

You'll see how many "Yanks" there are when Memnoch starts wearing a Yankees cap while roaming the streets of Boston.
